Ok so heres the thing and I apologize if this has been asked 5,000 times. I work from 6:00am til 2:30pm and listening to the show helps the day fly by. Soon though listening will not be as easy. I need to know what reciever to get that would (hopefully easily) allow me to record the show to mp3 and then put the show on my ipod and then listen to the show a day late. If someone could walk me through what radio to get and what software I would need to hook the radio up to my computer and record it everyday. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you are a prime candidate for the S50.

It will let you record and playback up to 50 hours right on the unit without using a computer or iPod.

Not really because I want to listen the following morning while I'm at work. I have no interest in listening at home. The times I will want to be listening is when the s50 will have to be sitting in a home dock recording the next show.

To answer your questions...

There are no receivers that will allow you to record MP3s and then transfer them to any other device. This is a limitation put in by the RIAA(Recording Industry Association of America). They don't want people copying and redistributing copyright material, plus it would compete with I-Tunes, taking away revenue. Remember, you gotta pay 99 cents per ITune download, versus $13 fixed amount for Sirius.

Regarding your comments about the S50. They're supposed to be repeating the Howard Stern show later in the day for the West Coast folks. You could record the show with the S50 later in the day, when it repeats, then take it with you the next morning. That would solve your dilema. Good luck and enjoy.

I'm sure there's a way to get around the RIAA. I've heard of people doing it, even from this site. And the S50 already takes away revenue from ITunes. Someone wrote on this board about how they had 600 songs on their S50...already defeating ITunes.

And leatherface, please DONT get the S50. Way over priced for what it CANT do. I'd keep researching the ipod solution, because if you think about it, with the S50 you're listening to whatever you're going to listen to later unless you plan to be out of the house WITHOUT the S50. And of course let's not forget you have to put up and extra $100 for a homeunit...which there is none of I hear. Then you have a car kit...record whatever you're listening to...in your car...only...right, goodluck!

I just contacted Sirius because I ordered the wrong homekit for my Starmate Replay from Sirius.com. They gave me a ticket number and told me to send it back via UPS and get a tracking number and then report the tracking number to them so they can get my refund sooner. Where do I send the tracking number to? What do I need to do with the ticket number? The girl from CS that was on the phone wasn't too helpful. Can someone with someone help me out?

hook your Sirius receiver to your computer and record it. convert file to MP3 and you're done.
