I would imagine that they wouldn't let just any idiot on the show, they probably will have a pretty big waiting list for qualified FAN"S to be a part of the show, I mean it is called The Super FAN Roundtable, not the Friend's of Howard Roundtable. I for one think that it is great that the average hard core fan will get a chance to voice his/her opinion's of the show.

exactly......it's SFN being brought to radio. :hw:

My first reaction was surprise and a little disappointment at a change in a format and host that were working, but then I remembered how good Stern's instincts are, and realized that his goal was probably a less polished show with no official voices. And I'm sure it will be great.
Fa-Fa-Fo-Ha
Is also a way for Howard to get some legitimate, no kiss ass feedback on the show. Then again we must hope that whoever is on the roundtable is not afraid to legitimately criticize the show thinking that he/she may not be asked to come back.
SteelRat
The point is that it's finally actually going to be a true FAN Roundtable, since there are now other forums for show members like the Wrap Up and Friday Show.

We'll see - I hope not because I've enjoyed SFRountable so far. I do feel like this is a huge change so early on but I wish Mutt all the best. I can't judge it until I hear a few episodes.

I like the roundtable the way Howard programs it.
Has any other show ever had a roundtable? That's not fonzy flying over fish, that's innovation!

Themed 'tables would be cool; all wack pack, all spouses of show staff, all ex-cons, all NYC, all LA, all white, all black, etc.
SpringsternFan
Are the roundtables done by phone or do people have to live close enough to get to the studio?

Either way, there should be a lottery or some sort of rotation to keep it fresh and get different people in.

This is what the roundtable was originally meant to be. Stern fans that don't have to kiss Howard's ass

It'll be better with Mutt. He doesn't have the tendency to just LOVE whatever Howard is doing like John Hine does.

I hope this means that Bobo, Bong Hit, Double A, and Maryanne aren't allowed to be on. :D

1. If any cast member from the show is on the Superfan Round Table, the cast member would dominate the show.

In person, I don't think I would ever fight with a cast member of the show.

2. But put me in a room with misteroz, duyba is a dick, taliban qwerty, and ask me to discuss the Stern Show? O baby

This guy has it right on the money! I can't believe I'm responding to this thread at all, but here goes. Imagine YOUR favorite movie star lets you have a movie all to your own? Look at what Howard's doing for us. He's giving his fans a chance to experience what he does, on a very small scale of course, and let us discuss our passion for the show. Wack-packers, celebrities and such have a place on Howard's channels, sure. But this show, this ONE show, this 1 hour show is OURS!!! It's something any Stern fan, not interesting enough for the BIG show, but a supporter of Howard's, can aspire for. It's also a useful tool for the crew to get a Stern fans true opinions, therefore giving small guidance to Howard and the team to create better shows and better programming. This is a great thing you jackass....I'm not saying the show isn't gonna be a trainwreck, you never know in showbizz, but support this, give hope to it, and just fucking enjoy!!!

I think Mutt will be great!!!!!
Can the stupid song. That idea sucked from the get-go.
No more Ralph!!!!!!!!! I now believe in God.
As for Mutt's new guests, I trust Mutt to know who follows the show and can discuss the past, present, and future. That grouping of ideas and thoughts will be great to hear.
And did I mention that I am glad Ralph will not be there. And if that asshole shows up, make sure his mic is off. Or if he calls in, I would love to see Mutt hang up on him.

Lunatic379
Yea I never understood how a "super fan roundtable" could have people on it that were show regulars. That kind of takes away from the super fan part IMO. I think it's great to have a bunch of people on there who aren't ever heard and get their ideas and views on the show. I wouldn't consider Ralph a superfan, maybe a super kiss ass but not super fan.

I Don't know anyone on that list of people so I can't say if I think it will be good or not. Mutt, good luck, and I for one will be listening.
LeeHarveyIdiot
i think it will be great, i can't wait to not hear ralph. howard finally gets it, that ralph is not liked by fans. the new roundtable will be amazing as long as the fans are knowledgeable and can carry themselves on the radio
Timmy
Is there a roundtable on the weekend?
bomba
Will Mutt now develop a new section in the SFN or on the show that will reflect some of the major concerns posted on this site dealing with HOWARD 100/101?

Agreed. The whole point of the R/T is fan inter-action with The Show. Personally, I think it's great that more fans can be involved than ever before. And the more *different* fans, the better.

Give Mutt a chance...I bet he does a great job with it.

many or rick's posts seem to be whinny. take a toke and act like a stern fan.

he doesn't want to hear regular people's opinions. kinda seems to be the idea for the show bro. duh.

howie always knows best. now SHUT UP, SIT DOWWWWWN!
ChronoSkooma17

Howard has people kissing his ass and telling him how great he is all day. This will be great to finally tell him that some of the stuff he does is very boring (strippers, games for cash prizes, strippers, most celebrity interviews, strippers).

Howard said the roundtable was supposed to be fans debating eachother about the show. It was never like that though. I can't wait to hear the 1st "true" roundtable.
lionop
I agree. I really liked the way Jon used to host the show, and i liked the inside stories that Ralph used to share...well lets see how the first show'll go... it'll be easyer to judge.
ChronoSkooma17

I was disappointed that Jon never brought up topics from his own website. He never brought up the fact that the people on his site voted Artie to be the #1 reason why THE SHOW jumped the shark.

He never really discussed any of this...

New Kid in Town (Artie)
Special Guest Star (Cabbie)
Exit...Stage Left (Jackie)
I Don't (Howard and Alison)
Exit...Stage Left (Billy West)
Beth
The Movie (Private Parts)
Howard battles Clear Channel and the FCC

These are the top reasons (voted by the people) why the show jumped the shark. He could've discussed some of them. Mutt will do a better job, im sure of it.
Tom from T.O.
I never actually heard the SFRT, only a few snippets. I heard Ralph on the wrap up and I thought he was very good, not trying to do shtick as he sometimes does but just being honest.

The ass kissing from the usual offenders like Double A has been pretty brutal on Howard's new channels, it almost seems like people are afraid to say somehting, to me this move might signal that Howard wants it to be real, Mutt is nuts in that way, he will maintain his opinion honestly, but there should really be controversey and some serious kicking of Howard's ass, not just to be an ass about it or attention whore but legit opinions like at SFN. Bubba topics should be in the mix too, e.g. his Martha Stewart bash is the most controvertial thing that went on this week, it should be discussed. I hate that cunt Martha Stweart and her fake little smile...but you don't know how far Mutt can go with it, he should start diving in and let them call and reign him in if necessary, however frightening a prospect that might be, he could kill his gig fast but I would tell Mutt to go for it, then again, it's not my ass on the line.
foofyter
they jumped the shark with the first episode...the best
superfag roundtable was at HPE'S during the craptacular...
with the twits sitting around pounding beers and arguing about who was the biggest or best fan, on the verge of coming to blows...kinda like this site, with audio
Mutt
Hey, let me at least do 1 show before you decide it's jumped the shark.

there will be plenty of shows to Howard's crew. this one is going to be different and feature fans instead of employees or wackpackers.

regular callers, comedians, and obsessed fans are still ok. I'm planning on 2 regular fans, 1 re-occurring guest, and 1 person you know from the show who is a non-employee/wackpacker. there will probably be a couple re-occurring guests, but for the most part only 1 per show.

I'm hoping this will give a us a good mix of opinions and keep it fresh.

though it would be strangely appropriate if it jumped the shark after the loss of Jon Hein

there will also occationally be special roundtables like an all wack pack roundtable.
Lunatic379
Good luck with it mutt, i hope it works out for you. Some people are going to hate it no matter how good it is.
hdrider
i think it was a legitment questiion to pose, and why peps like joeyboots seem to get so offened if anyone on sfn dares to go against the grain is beyond me. mutt's response was thought out and geniune, boot's thought is just ignorance.

Yeah, that's something I like about Mutt when he's on the roundtable. He gives an honest opinion and sticks to it. You hear people like Bobo and Double A giving kiss ass answers and opinions because they think Howard will like that.

They need to look at Mutt. He speaks his mind and gets asked back practically every week.

Why don't you have the ghey yet?

Mutt has been the standout guest on the roundtable and he's going to bring his expertise from here to that show as host. I see no downside to Mutt hosting at all.

And with Ralph finally off, I see the show as becoming even better. And besides Howard it's my second favorite show on Sirius already.
ChronoSkooma17

Keep that "Hottest Chick/Biggest Fan" girl, she's good.
Tom from T.O.
One TV show that I used to watch from, yes, France was several tables set up in a bar where the host would invite members to talk about a topic that they were involved in or had knowledge about, it was a huge hit and a great show. They would sit and drink and talk, by the end of the 2 hour? show you had a bald homosexual communist, drunk out of his tree, trying to punch another fat right wing conservative at the table, fucking real and funny. Maybe Mutt could once host one show out of a bar, where eveyone is relaxed and the atmosphere is more wide open?

That super fan chick might start talking more freely about wanting to fuck Howard etc. and hearing people make fools of themselves as well as heated debate is always interesting. A sexy chick slurring her words and talking about sex, fliritng with Mutt, getting out of control etc, that's always interesting as long as the show is kept moving. Also, the callers taken should be totally viscious with the panel itself, since this creates some tension and awkwardness that is usually good.

I don't think the show jumped the shark, but if it did it, it was when they started singing that stupid song. That song is almost as annoying as Ralph. Almost. . .
asrai
I think Mutt will kick ass :). The whole point is for it to be the 'superFAN' roundtable, so why let insiders on it unless they are a special guest? I mean, I love Ralph, I think he does bring a good conversation to the table, but he is technically a part of the show. Good luck Mutt!!
ronin69
This new round up for the r/t is going to be genuine since it will consist of real fans.

Besides, if this does not work out, Howard will probably change the format again.

Good Mutt :)
ShawnT
I know Mutt, is very popular on this site, but what was wrong with John?
jmaj43
Rick you're a fucking idiot. Why would you come to a Stern Fan mesageboard and do nothing but start negative threads? Because you must be part of that O&A virus thingy.

I've listened to most of the roundtables, and have really liked them. John was a great host, but I think that Mutt will be just as good, if not better. It sounds like he has some great ideas, and from this site alone, he could get some really interesting guests. Will it jump the shark? Well, I guess I'll just have to listen, and I can't wait to hear the show with Mutt as the host. Good luck Mutt.

the show is called superFAN roundtable. having Mutt as the host is the best possible thing!! btw mutt, feel free to call me to sit in anytime. i am very opinionated. i hate everyone and everything except ralph. i like ralph

I just hope that Mutt rotates the participants a bit, so it doesn't get too old. I hope he doesn't overuse his friends on there. I could see Joey Boots being a good regular, but the other two or three slots should rotate frequently, imo. But he knows what he is doing and has sure proved himself to be Superfan, so I think it will be good.

Has there been a RoundTable with him as Host? I must be out of it.
Larry_Darrell
Mutt is a "superfan". The show is called "superfan" round table. Hence, a "superfan" is now hosting the show. Great idea IMO. What part of "superfan" don't you understand?

BTW, keeping Ralph off the show is also a good idea. He gets enough air time. Let's hear what the fans have to say.
