I know this should be in the 4Sirius forum but it will take me forever to get an answer.

If I set the alarm on the Starmate replay and turn it off will it turn itself on at the designated time or I must keep it on in order to have the alarm go off?

Thanks

Sorry, I don't think it can turn itself on like that. It's a cool unit though, impossible to find in stores now. Glad I got mine last year.

My cellphone alarm clock will ring even when the phone is off. I don't know if this helps or not.

How hard is it to set the alarm for a minute ahead of whatever time it is, turn it off, and wait to see?

Btw - The alarm does turn the radio on and it then says press any button.

Why don't you just so a test run...??? Then post the answer.

Yes the Starmate will turn on by itself by using the ALARM function.

I just set the alarm on my Starmate to see if it would start from Power Off by setting the ALARM. It worked, it turned on to music, no "alarm tone".

Cool feature.

Here’s how you set it up with the Starmate. I believe time base features on all newer Sirius Plug and Play radios all set up the same.

1. Hit Menu
2. go to Time Base Features
3. Choose Alarm
4. Choose Set Alarm
5. choose ON
6. Now choose Alarm Time
7. Set the TIME you want your Starmate to turn on.

a. Right/Left buttons – sets the hours
b. Up/Down buttons – sets the minutes

Sweet, I havent messed with that function yet.

I just got my extension antenna cable today, got it all wired and placed on my roof.
I went from sat 3 bars to 10 bars, Fuckin Awsome, I Love It.

Now knowing I dont have to leave the starmate on all night, so I will wake up to sirius on my alarm clock upstairs is cool.

interesting, i saw that in the menu, but thought it was for just shutting down. i used my light timer that i had on my christmas lights. i leave my starmate on, and plug the adapter into the timer. timer is set to come on 1/2 hr before my clock radio goes off so i can wake to the show

further inspection of my starmate ( not starmate replay) shows the time base features, but no choice for alarm :-(

Great information guys. I got one in December and haven't played with that feature yet. The Starmate is a cool piece of equipment, I can't wait until the boom cube come out. ;)

I have a question about the Starmate replay program alert function.

I usually fall asleep listening to Bubba or Ferrell, so I use the sleep function to go to sleep, and I set the alarm function, to turn my Starmate replay on (with the FM modulator), about 5 minutes before my clock radio is set to go off.

I would prefer to wake up to music, (How many times can you listen to the same Howward 100 news stories, over, and over, and over, and over, etc.)

Yesterday I attempted to set the program alert function, to change the station to a music channel 2 minutes after the alarm turns on the unit.

Today, when the alarm went off, the channel had not changed from channel 101 to channel 9.

Can anyone tell me? Did I miss something?

The way I read the manual, it seems that the program alert should change the channel for me!

I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks in advance!!!!!

I dont believe it will change the channel for you. Its whatever you had it set to before you turned it off.

I have Sporster Replay and the alarm will turn the unit on but the alarm tone keeps buzzing .

The alarm tone & "Press Any Key" message on mine stops on its own after a minute or so.

Cool feature, I thought the manual said it wouldn't do that. Now I won't need to leave mine on overnight any more for my daily recordings.

Setting it to 5:55AM now...

I just ordered the starmate replay to replace my starmate, it sounds pretty cool with the time features and everything. hope it comes in soon!
