I have had so many real problems with the S50 I am now in possesion of my fourth unit this is getting REALLY OLD

I am on my second S 50. Can you describe the problems you encountered? (You can go to S 50 Invalid Channels thread --in this forum--for a description of a common problem that I encountered). BTW, I had an rockin set of songs saved on my first S 50. When I called Sirius Tech Help, they walked me through some steps which deleted everything. Just sucks.

I dont know about the invalid channels but here are some tricks for ya since I can't post a thread yet here goes. Notice when you pause the s50 it turns off after a few seconds and when you fast forward you have to hold the button down till its where you want it. Well here are some simple tricks when you pause the s50 press the lock button and it wont turn off, second when you fast forward press and hold the fast forward button and with your other hand press lock then you will be able to let the fast forward button go then after a few seconds unlock it, it will keep fast forwarding until you hit the play button. I hope this helps some of ya, if it does put this in a thread to help others but give props to me. I have 29 more posts to make before I can make my own thread.

Thanks, Dynamo. Great tips. At first my s50 was acting quirky. Now it's working great, and I just received and hooked up the home kit. Loving it even more.

Issue I have with my S50 is if it's on the home dock it doesn't have the FM Modulator so I can't listen to it on other radios in my house. Anybody got a solution ?
jippetto
Dynamo, your tip for the forwarding and rewinding works, but it still doesn't work for me with the pause. Perhaps I missed a step, but I pause and quickly lock. When I unlock, I have to repower.

ANOTHER QUESTION I HAVE IS - IS THERE A WAY TO PULL SONGS OFF THE S50 ONTO MY COMPUTER BESIDES MINI JACK PLUGGED IN THE HEADPHONE JACK ?

Does anyone know when we will have the 4 hour capability to record (Howard) instead of the 2 hour limitiation??
kevcaf1
No idea on the 4 hr capability but the tech at sirius told me the work around is to set it to record the 1st 2 hr's then set to record the 2nd 2 hr's starting at the same time the 1st 2 hr's ends then same thing for the last hour, actually he recommended setting the 3rd set for 2 hrs also in case howard runs over 5 hours so as not to miss anything.

Thanks for all the tips, I'm liking my S50 more every day.

Thanks for the Tips. Those were my two biggest issues with it so far. I have only had mine a week.

before you try these tips make sure you go to sirius.com and download the latest software.

It has a wire connected to it with a Mic jack on the end (like a walkman headphone plug) that plugs into the "line out" on the S-50 Home Base. That plug will fit anything that has a headphone outlet, like a Walkman, I-Pod, Portable CD player.

No mine covers my whole house, and even into my car outside, check this thread, it's where I got most of my info before ordering the Crane unit. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

but remember you need a stereo cord , the one pictured is a mono cord. the way to tell the differance is the mono has one ring around the tip of the jack(like the one pictured

....and the stereo one has two rings around the tip like this:

Thanks for the hold button tip.I kept pausing while listening at work and cursed it while i powered it back up
