Yeah I'm just upset, I've had it running in my car (fm) to the office, but the head unit gets so hot it's messing with the screen so I wanted to do this. |

I have one and I have the antenna outside the window. Unfortunately sometimes I lose the signal. It usually works pretty well, but it does go out from time to time. |

No I cant really get past the screen, I have a great view of the sky, just in the wrong direction, Sirius just sends their sig straight down its not all fancy like the other guys. |

I'm planning on getting a Boombox, but I'm still really new to this whole thing. Sirius told me I had to have a COMPLETELY clear view of the sky...and that my balcony wouldn't even be any good for it. She said I needed a signal STRAIGHT up, and even putting something on my balcony railing would be worthless.
Meanwhile the rep trying to sell me one says that's horseshit...any window should be fine. And, since he's a non-commissioned salesperson, there's not a huge incentive for him to lie.
So, which is it? Will I be pissing my money away? |

question. can you make a small hole in the screen? or and I'm sure this will make ya laugh but do you think a mirror would work? No prolly not but i'm just brain storminhow far is your desk from the nearest window that would work for ya ? can you move? |

Well the any window fine thing only works for XM.
I'm in florida and my window faces south so it's REALLY boderline to getting a signal because sirius beams pretty much line-of-sight from space, if I was facing north or west I imagine I'd be fine. |

haha I thought about that, but I'm in a rather expensive building and I dont see that happening, mirror, haha thats good. It might be time to move my office, I need a new view anyways.

| you gotta have the atenna outside. if you don't, you are wasting your time. i have the orbiter at home with docking station and boom box and i moved both atennas outside. i'm actually gonna buy the $40 atenna that i can mount on my roof. it's worth the setup if you want your radio to work perfectly. |

That sucks.
I have the Sirius Clarion Calypso boombox. The window at my office is facing the opposite direction they suggest, the antenna is in the middle of the office not even close to the window and I still get all three bars. Maybe it's a Sportster boombox issue. :( |

| I have the same problems at work, sucks. In the morning two bars works great around 2:00 its gone. Sirius really needs to improve the signal. I have other office workers who have XM, it doesn't even face a window and never have signal problems. So frustrating!!!!! |

I had XM back in the day and you cant NOT get a signal... I'm sure Sirius will add in the infrastructure as things go along so theres not much point in worrying about it now.
