More often than not, lawsuits are not about winning and losing, they're about settlements. Some settlements are so low in amount that they can accurately be characterized as wins for the defense, but most settlements are wins for plaintiffs. They are shake downs of deep pocket defendants and/or their insurers.

Well now we know what gift the THSS staff are getting from Howard this year.

Sadly, I just bought a calendar. You see last month, when Howard was lecturing us all about scheduling, I went out and bought a daily planner. I looked for one by Apple or Nikon, but the man at the store said he wasn't familiar with those models. So I had to buy the generic model.

So I bit the bullet. I bought a $250 leather-bound 2011 daily planner. I even bought the one-year warranty. Unfortunately, because of this investment, I can't in good conscience buy another product that serves the same purpose - even if it comes with an amazing signature.

But I'll make a note, not to buy next year's scheduler until Howard announces his calendar plans for the year.

OH FUCK... when making that note, I just realized that I bought a 2011 scheduler when I really needed one for 2012. No wonder the fucking salesman was pushing it so hard. I probably could have gotten this for half-price come January.

Oh well, it looks like I now have a need for a 2012 calendar. I think I'll get one with a horse on the cover.

You see, for me, Howard made me realize my life could never be fulfilled and complete without making a to do list, giving me the ability to cross things off it.

I thought I was doing great, but I soon realized that writing what I had to do with a pen and pad was just too simple. So I'm going to spring for something with pictures of animals on it, a famous person's signature, and pictures of a famous person's wife.

Where can I find something like that?
