It is certainly much more fun to be civil. Unfortunate how we seem to be trained to hate those who disagree with us politically.

It could turn out that way, that the Republicans will lose a few seats. It just seems that the Democrats have absolutely failed to improve their position despite the floundering Bush administration.

All anyone is going to remember from last night is that a wild-eyed rookie wingnut with no legislative or military record whatsoever called a twice decorated, 37 year Marine veteran and 17 term Congressman a coward on the floor of the House.

This so-called corner is pretty easy to maneuver out of. The Republican resolution called for immediate withdrawal, while the Democrats called for accountability and a plan, not immediate withdrawal. Seems to me the Republicans are the ones who were for it before they were against it.

The Republicans missed a great opportunity to get rid of the albatross around their necks, but they fucked up.

One thing of which I'm quite certain: A year from now we will be in Iraq, the situation will be worse, and Bush's approval rating will be lower. But that doesn't really matter since the Democrats will never win another election. :hw:

Would one a you geniuses please explain to me how the Republicans are going to campaign against Democrats by accusing them of turning against a war they originally supported when two-thirds of the voters have done the exact same thing? Just askin'. :hw:

200 Democrats are now on record as not supporting immediate withdrawal and this is going to hurt them... how exactly?

As for the Republicans, what are they going to run on? "Stay of the course. The war is going along just great and anyone who says otherwise is a coward/traitor."

The Republicans if they are smart will say that a vote for them is a vote to continue fighting for victory, while a vote for the Democrats is a vote for retreat. America is a proud nation, and many people would ashamed to lose to a pathetic gang of humans with ape-level intelligence like the "Islamic fundamentalists." A few thousand deaths has never been a reason to retreat, never in history. Then again, there are plenty of Americans these days who seem to have no pride or shame, so who knows what will happen.

And who said that sending in the most junior lamb with no record and no right to use the word coward was not a premeditated action to which there was a speculated reaction that seemed to come to fruition?

Who said anything about a victory? I am undecided as to the net worth of the action. What I have professed was that this was an action that was planned- she was told to do what she did, someone of her little stature asks if they may prior to doing anything- the end result? I think it is still being played out.
