ABC News Exclusive: Zimmerman Medical Report Shows Broken Nose, Lacerations After Trayvon Martin Shooting


A medical report compiled by the family physician of accused Trayvon Martin murderer George Zimmerman and obtained exclusively by ABC News found that Zimmerman was diagnosed with a "closed fracture" of his nose, a pair of black eyes, two lacerations to the back of his head and a minor back injury the day after he fatally shot Martin during an alleged altercation.
Zimmerman faces a second degree murder charge for the Feb. 26 shooting that left the unarmed 17-year-old high school junior dead. Zimmerman has claimed self defense in what he described as a life and death struggle that Martin initiated by accosting him, punching him in the face, then repeatedly bashing his head into the pavement.
The record shows that Zimmerman also suffered bruising in the upper lip and cheek and lower back pain. The two lacerations on the back of his head, one of them nearly an inch long, the other about a quarter-inch long, were first revealed in photos obtained exclusively by ABC News last month.
But the report also shows Zimmerman declined hospitalization the night of the shooting, and then declined the advice of his doctor to make a follow-up appointment with an ear nose and throat doctor.

I hope this settles the coloreds down. They're getting a little too uppity for 2moobs' taste.

There are also reports that Martin's autopsy report indicate his knuckles were injured.

I express no opinion as to the significance of any of this. I just reiterate what I have said all along- that none of us has enough information to make an informed judgment and there are a lot of facts we are missing.

As my everyday normal human being self, I agree with MemphisMan. I have some faith that this will come out in a jury and then application of the stand your ground rule may lead to the Judge granting a motion to strike before it even gets to the jury.

As my assholish internet self:

Florida should offer Zimmerman a misdemeanor firearm charge. It would strip him of his right to carry a concealed weapon and then the parents can sue Zimmerman in civil court. His father can buy them a new Cadillac and the whole thing will be quashed.

The FBI should investigate every news room director that allowed this travesty of "news" race baiting to pass to air.

Unbelievable... actually, that's not even the right word. It's completely believable that the "media" would inflate this issue and ignore (what I consider) common sense information in the early days of this "crisis" and run with it.

And let's not forget the race baiters like Jesse Jackson and Farrakahn and every other parasitic urchin that leaked out of the woodwork to try this issue in the press before all the facts were clear. They all belong in a jail cell... at best.

Well, the whole idea is that we don't want the government passing judgment on what's lies and half truths. Slippery slope indeed.

Speech that poses a threat of imminent bodily harm, and an ex post facto analysis of press reports are two different things indeed.

The "media" actively doctored material regarding this case from the very beginning.

- ABC put out the first pics of Zimmerman with "no damage" to his scalp... even though he had received medical attention in the hours prior... and they conveniently covered his scalp with their logo on the initial "breaking news" reports

- NBC's Brian Williams, who is on Letterman as we speak at this moment, continued to run with the 14 year old Trayvon innocent, studious black kid photo even after Trayvon's personal Twitter accounts (two of them by the way) portrayed him as a "nigga" with gold teeth, and boastful tweets of lawlessness and anti-social behavior that he publicly claimed pride about.

- George Zimmerman chastised as a white man, when he's clearly of mixed descent and appears Hispanic by any rational observation.

Yeah, maybe Zimmerman is an uppity douche that felt his father's standing as a judge gave him a certain immunity in the community and he perhaps he wrongly felt he was doing the right thing by looking out for his neighborhood, stalking a stranger and carrying a loaded weapon to seek out said people as he saw fit...

None of that cancels out the fact that he was, in fact, attacked by a young black man whose most recent identity had been to post pictures of himself as a "nigga" with false gold teeth and that had chosen the role as a "thug."

I'm sorry, there's just no grey area in this for me.

I express no opinion as to the quality of the media coverage of all of this. Okay, I do. Like usual, it was far from perfect.

I just recoil at the notion you suggest, that the media should be subject to some sort of criminal investigation for its coverage. I don't think you seriously believe that is good public policy, even if it were not unconstitutional.
