Adam doesn't give a shit about anyone's opinions of his opinions.

He doesn't have to. He is at the helm of his own Pirate Ship and doesn't report to The Man anymore. He can call Jimmy and get booked on his show in a heart beat. And Dr. Drew (whose CNN show is having some ratings trouble...) will put him on the air as often as Adam wants to be there.

Any sort of (idiotic) controversy like this is great for all of them.

I have become a total Adam Carolla dork since last Christmas. I needed something to listen to on my new iPhone so I ended up downloading his podcasts.

Now I regularly listen to not only his Ace podcast, but Ace on the House and For Cryin' Out Loud (love Lynette too). He puts new content out nearly every day, and once you keep listening you can't help but get involved emotionally. I agree with many of his opinions, and am fascinated by the rest (like never stopping before making a right turn)

He says what people are thinking, but are afraid to say.

I was on hold one time calling in to Ace on the House. I had some stupid question about pocket doors I was going to ask, but as I sat on hold listening to Adam talk to Ray I got so nervous. I was pretty sure I would end up sounding ditsy or too giggly, so I hung up.

If I had to listen to him making fun of me on the podcast it would break my heart.

There was a live ACE podcast with Artie (at Caroline's in NYC) available on iTunes right now--recorded last Friday. Artie seemed really solid---he fell into some of his scripted material a few times but he adapted to Adam's off-the-cuff style just fine. They seemed to bond over being sad, poor welfare kids. That podcast was good for both of them, business-wise. I'm sure Dr. Drew will drag his ass into the mix soon, too.
