Enforcing a stereotype? Racist? Or just not following the automatic % tip policy when you have over 6 patrons?

"Family says restaurant locked them inside over tip refusal Police called over restaurant tipping policy"

Plus, the anchor lady Dominique Sachse has a great set of Texas-sized fake tits....

the black customers make a good point.

"17% gratuity automatically added to parties of 6 or more"

Great, except what if you get horrible service, terrible attitude, etc?

This reminds me of a time I went out with some friends to a Mexican restaurant a few years back. The place was really nice. The service was well above average.

We get the bill. And someone at our table told us the amount. We all started pulling out money. Somehow, I got my hands on the bill. And upon further investigation, I discovered that there was a 9% charge for "HOMELESS TAX" on the bill.

We threatened to turn that restaurant the fuck out!!!

They hapilly discounted that HOMELESS TAX.

It is a good point. Per the end of the video I think it is one of those things "buyer beware" to be aware of before you sit down at the restaurant.

Most places auto charge 15% for parties over 5 people. I don't see what the problem is. AND it is clearly printed in big letters on the menu. "THOSE PEOPLE" don't have a leg to stand on.

So you are saying that tipping is law? Can you please quote the penal code for this law?? What if the service was horrible?

In some states, such caveats have proved to mean nothing at all. Take New York, where Humberto A. Taveras ate at Soprano’s Italian and American Grill in 2004. After being less than impressed by a $77.43 meal for nine, he refused to pay the required $13 (18%) tip. The restaurant owners called the police, who then arrested Taveras and charged him with theft. But the district attorney had those charged dropped the following week, saying that any gratuity is by its nature discretionary.

Im not saying that the people in the new story are not assholes. Maybe they are. But I had no idea tipping was mandatory. Even if the menu states it I cannot believe you would actually go to jail for not paying. Poor Mr. Pink would be fucked.

The truth of the matter is, restaurants tack on the "mandatory gratuity" so they can avoid paying their staff a fair wage. If the tips don't bring the wage up to minimum, the restaurant has to make up the difference.

The bottom line is a table of six is no harder to manage than 3 tables of 2.

The notice was clearly expressed on the menu....By ordering and eating their meal, they entered into an Implied contract ...If they didn't like the terms, they should have brought it to someones attention before they ate, OR just left & gone somewhere else ....This is obviously another example of Boons thinking that the rules the rest of us have to live by don't apply to them .....

If you're not willing to assume the risk, then leave and go to another establishment whose rules are more palatable

How would a wage be unfair if the worker has chosen to accept employment with the establishment?....Have you forgotten about the Federal & State minimum wage laws that are currently in effect????... The bottom line is, its not up to you, I, or anyone else to determine what business-model is acceptable for this establishment.... They've created the parameters, and the consumer chooses whether or not to accept those parameters
