What kind of shit do you play on it? I remember they always used to be used in a kind of folkie setting. And Leo Kottke still tears it up on the 12. Glen Campbell was a session guitarist long before anyone knew of him, and he always used to play hot bluegrass flatpick runs on the 12, of all things. 12 is a cool sound, for sure. Sometimes you can get it on a recording using a Nashville high guitar stringing, but it isn't as full as a great 12 string!

I once heard a kid in high school play Wish You Were Here on an acoustic 12, and it sounded good.

Love those elixir nanowebs. If you can manage not to break the G string, they'll last a year of regular playing and still sound crisp and don't get out of round.

Sounds like a fun guitar! :)

12 strings is one thing Taylor actually does respectably... but I won't own Taylor.

Guild is it for 12 strings. I might have been tempted to check out a Breedlove, but I'd have bought a Guild. :btu:

..tho maybe only after failing to find a nice vintage Holzapfel.

Does Taylor use nitrocellulose (lacquer... instead of polyurethane) these days?

    although...

when playing a 12 string you pretty much have to wear Clark's desert boots, striped socks and velvet pants. Probably a pirate shirt, and in silk.

...all while trying not to look like a fruit.

Been decades since I've owned a 12 String, and that one was a Guild. I own a Taylor that I use for gigging with acoustic/electric bands. Their sound system is perfect for that kind of blend, plus I don't care all that much ifnit gets best up or even stolen. I think it's probably a urethane finish, so that's good for a beater too, cuz you can use insect repellant :)
