ANSWERED Can VIP's abuse their new powers?

VIPS WILL BE GIVEN POWER:
As you may have heard on the H100 News, I'm giving VIPs certain moderation powers inside threads that they are posting in. The intention is that they will be able to talk to people who are being civil without being attacked by the people who are not.

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE VIP POWER:
it's nothing more than advanced douche protection. on the old board, if you started a thread you could turn on douche protection and keep people you ignore out of your thread. VIPs will be able to turn on douche protection in any thread they post in regardless of whether they started it or not. if you are on their ignore list & get douched out, you won't be able to reply to it any more. you can still go say what you wanted to say in a different thread. it's only stopping you from one on one fighting w/ the VIP which according to the SFN rules you were not supposed to be doing anyway. it's not a new rule or change of policy. it's just a new tool that helps prevent problems instead of letting you create them & the staff have to run after you and clean them up. if you don't like getting douched out of their threads, you could always appeal to them to remove you from their ignore list.

WILL VIPS BE ABLE TO ABUSE THIS POWER:
many of you seem concerned that someone like High Pitch Eric might abuse this power & follow you around the site booting you from one thread after another. If I determine that a VIP is abusing the power, they will lose it so stop worrying about it & wait to see if it's even an issue. besides, would it really be that bad for some of you to get a taste of your own medicine? and for the rest of us, won't it be fun to watch? not that it would ever happen but I'd love for someone like ETA to show up & talk to fans while booting the douchebags.

WILL ALL THESE PEOPLE I DON"T KNOW STILL BE VIPS & GET THE POWER:
no, I need to revoke some VIP statuses so it's only the people we know from on air w/ the VIP title. the remainders who are VIP for some reason other than known from on-air (like the sales staff or htv guys, or sponsors, or etc) will still have an elevated status. it will just be a different one which does not get VIP power. I have not named it yet.

DO THEY HAVE POWER NOW:
so when can you expect this VIP Armageddon to begin? once the staff adjusts to all the new tools (you think it's different for you, you should see what we're dealing w/) and I get everything else running smoothly then I'll introduce it. probably to a handful of VIPs at a time.

don't get your panties in a bunch. i certainly won't like the wackpack destroy the site. there's almost none of them here anymore anyway so how bad could it be?
