  1. If you don't have an account click the "login or signup" tab in the upper right & create one. To make things easy you can quickly create it using your facebook, twitter, or google login. Your real identity & your login credentials for those sites will remain private. Just be sure to choose an alias when you set it up. PS: Even if you haven't been to SFN in years, your old login will still work.

in the upper right corner you'll see your screen name. when you click it a menu pops up w/ lots of links. the left column are all your user setting & preferences. the right column is all content. "Your News Feed" will make more sense once you start following people. follow your friends & in there will be links to everything they are posting. "Your Content" lists all of your posts. as you find threads you like, "watch" them. then later you can click the "Watched Threads" link in the menu to show just the threads you are watching. it's like a set of bookmarks of just SFN threads.

next to that menu is the conversation menu. next to that is the notification menu. it lists stuff going on at the site that has to do w/ you. look at it & it's pretty self explanatory. bob liked your post, mary quoted your post, peter replied to your thread, etc.

if you hover over "members" in the top left you'll see "recent activity". it lists all the newest stuff happening on the site sort of like the old active topics page did.

if you click in the search box at the upper left you'll see this drop down. depending where you are on the site there will be different options. you can search the whole site, the current forum, the current thread, etc. right now we're only seeing search results from the new posts that were made here on this new code but it will be updated soon.

at the bottom right & top right of any page is a little arrow icon. when you click it it opens this quick navigation popup which is sorta like the old forum jump.

when you go to someone's profile there are lots of good links. the "recent activity" tab will show what that person has been posting & more. it includes uploading albums, changing your status, all kinds of things. the "postings" tab just shows the person's posts. profile posts is sort of like people posting on your wall on facebook. you have the ability to delete posts from your own page.
