are you cleveland people still burning lebron jerseys when he comes to town cld?

That was some walk of shame that Cleveland had to do.

Can't believe Stern is pulling this. Would not be surprised to see CP3, the Lakers, the Rockets, and the union sue. If that's legitimately the best offer that New Orleans gets, the league has to let them take it. What are they supposed to do? Hold him to the end of the year and get nothing? Trade him for less than what the Lakers offered?

How is the Gasol trade any different from the Garnett trade from Minnesota to Boston by Kevin McHale?

And, who really saw Kobe Bryant becoming what he's become today when he was only 17 at the time of the trade between he and Divac?

    Don't reply to the moron.

Bynum is no different than Al Jefferson and Kobe was no guarantee at that time.

Lakers made a fair deal and Stern fucked them over. I'd concentrate more on getting Howard anyway.

Yeah you're right I too didnt see koME as a rapist when he was trade. for Divac but I guess I was wrong.

Totally agree on the Divac/Kobe trade. Hindsight is 20/20 on that one. At the time, Lakers give one of the top centers in the league for a high school kid who was drafted 13th. It was a very fair trade.

the difference between garnett to boston, pau gasol to the lakers, and other shitty one sided deals is that THE LEAGUE made this one. the nba owns the hornets and that makes it sketchy. it's a huge difference. chris wallace, the shitty gm of memphis gave pau gasol away but at least he ran the organization for his owner. in this case it's the nba sending a star to los angeles for two overpaid, older bums. it wasn't a fair deal. it looks like the nba is rigging it for the lakers. so they killed it.

an owner can kill any deal, right? well the owner of new orleans (the other 29 nba owners) killed this deal. personally, i think the deal eventually goes thru but this is the reason why a league should not take control over a team unless it's for a short, finite period until a new sale goes thru.

    Commissioner,

It would be a travesty to allow the Lakers to acquire Chris Paul in the apparent trade being discussed.

This trade should go to a vote of the 29 owners of the Hornets.

Over the next three seasons this deal would save the Lakers approximately $20 million in salaries and approximately $21 million in luxury taxes. That $21 million goes to non-taxpaying teams and to fund revenue sharing.

I cannot remember ever seeing a trade where a team got by far the best player in the trade and saved over $40 million in the process. And it doesn’t appear that they would give up any draft picks, which might allow to later make a trade for Dwight Howard. (They would also get a large trade exception that would help them improve their team and/or eventually trade for Howard.) When the Lakers got Pau Gasol (at the time considered an extremely lopsided trade) they took on tens of millions in additional salary and luxury tax and they gave up a number of prospects (one in Marc Gasol who may become a max-salary player).

I just don’t see how we can allow this trade to happen.

I know the vast majority of owners feel the same way that I do.

When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

    Please advise….

    Dan G.

I like and understand that reply, but my post was directed at the idea that the Gasol trade and trade for Kobe were the only lopsided trades of their kind and had nothing to do with the Chris Paul trade.

I actually liked your post a lot, but I'll still call you a faggot when you troll the Laker thread.

I mean, that's what we do every year, right? :tu:

 this is hysterical. fucking nba is a crazy place.

itz late, i'm going to bed. i expect when i wake up in six hours, stern will have sent melo back to denver.

No Paul and now no Howard.

Howard wants to go to NJ and play with Williams.

Now that odumb and gosoft are lakers the chemistry is going to be great.......ahhahahah

It's obvious stern hates Cleveland and any other small market team. Somehow this trade will happen. That's where all the money is big markets. Cut the NBA to 6 teams and be done with it.

That Paul trade is not fair, player wise, but when are NBA trades fair? they are usually just money match deals.
