I know we all mellow with age but I use to love Howard's passion when he was all fired up on a mission. I haven't seen him on a real rampage in quite awhile.

he's too high on this america's got talent. both shows this week were plagued by non-stop yapping about
how great the show is and how good a judge howard is. that's enough! let's move on to a different topic - i loved his rap on the religious nut jub pat robertson!

I don't give a cr** about AGT. He will do two shows a weeks and most of that is talking about AGT and going to Jimmy Kimmel's party. The worst is when people call in who have been at a taping. I really don't care that someone was sitting ten rows behind Howard and spoke to him, then that some guy in a red hat gave a great audition. Really don't care. Then like clockwork they bust Ronnie Mund's balls. Howard really doesn't care anymore and is disrespecting his fans.

    I. After the first fantastic months of SIRIUS 2006, Howard began to divorce himself emotionally from his show and has yet to share with us as to why. Many things that were talked about with great enthusiasm and heavily hyped, abruptly disappeared without any comment. Whatever the reasons were, his eye-of-the-tiger focus on his radio efforts began to evaporate. (He no longer has weekly creative meetings for The Show, for example.) This attitude change and de-prioritization of The Show definitely diminishes his 'edge' that we hear.

II. During 'The History of Howard Stern', Howard comments multiple times in retrospect "I was crazy then", etc, referring to the many edgy, bold, crazy and outrageous things he did during his tremendous and relentless drive to conquer all radio challengers and dominate the American radio market. These statements, along with many other examples of his softening and maturing these past years, is probably the most cited indication of Howard losing his 'edge'. I believe all of this restructuring of his personality can be traced back to his marriage failure, and the immutable pain and guilt of how it affected his children. He began therapy and this led to but is not limited to, renewed focus on his kids, becoming less de-sensitized to the reality of others, experimentation with new experiences outside of his routine (partying with celebrities etc), a new personal life with Beth, new mother-in-law (its impact should not be underestimated), new friends, the welfare of animals and pets, emphasis on leisure time, exploring hobbies, and drinking, along with many other changes.

In regards to his "theater of the mind" creative talent and wit, he is still unequaled, iconic and unique. It appears to many of you that this is no longer true due to the changes I have mentioned, but it is not true. He is still capable of great and wonderful things, if he chooses to do so.

*Regarding many bigoted comments about Howard hoarding 'marbles'/$$$ as a Jew etc, I dismiss them completely as not having any merit what so ever.*

I just tuned in for the first time this week and best of the week was on with Debbie the Pet Lady doing her typical, lame boring schtick. I figured if this was the best of the week then I didn't miss much and I turned it off.

It's too bad Howard won't take new unscreened callers.....you have some great points and I would love to hear Howard's take on what you have to say about his show. I think he would find it pretty hard to defend himself after watching that video. Maybe he needs to see it to realize why his fans are so disappointed.
Sirius should have played that tape during their contract negociations with Howard.

"Boys visit the Hamptons" was a pretty edgy film. You people don't know what you are talking about.

Every show at Sirius makes fun of Howie behind the scenes,He has no clue of reality. The whole compound thing , limo to the elevator , Gary getting a job with Ch 11 . His edge left with Krock.

Hey Mutt , what do you do this morning? I'm noticing that some formatting, like BOLD style text, of posts prior to your tweaking/updating is messed up.

My post above did NOT look like that 14 hours ago and the embedded youtube video I had included is completely missing.

    It looked like this instead:

I believe that Howard was sincere when he made the press release video a few day prior to the Jan 2006 premiere on SIRIUS:

I've still gotta give it to Howard though when he wants to bring it, he still kills.
