That's why everyone is involved so costs DON'T go up. SOOOO.... a healthy 30 year old will be in the same pool as a 90 year old which will make the costs more manageable

Thank you for your response. You gave me alot of insight as to what people such as yourself might be believing.

If you got cancer like your mom, up until now, you were not denied care. You may be denied insurance, but if you went to an emergency room, you must be treated. There are many ways people get care, and even be free to pay for you care.

With this passage, you are right that you will not be denied insurance, BUT, you may be denied care, as now the government will deem what you can have, what tests you can have, what medication you will be given. You are also assuming the there will be doctors to treat you.

Again, I really do appreciate you posting your thoughts as there is such a difference between getting insurance and getting the care you need.

    and ration care.

It is unbelievable what happened today. We have been betrayed and deceived. All of us. This is not good for any of us.

You seriously believe this BS? When have the costs gone down, albeit manageable, where the government is concerned?

You realize you would not get radiation or chemo treatments for cnacer without insurance, right? They don't do that in the emergency room.

The private insurance companies NOT the government

You know, I thought that, but wanted to continue to use your example of cancer. The truth is, with the new law, the cancer treatments could be rationed and take longer to get critical tests that could save your life. All the insurance in the world is no good if you cannot get the tests and treatments you need in a timely manner.

Preexisting conditions are fine to cover, but there should he an elimination period of some sort (two years maybe?). Think of life insurance: if you are diagnosed with terminal cancer, why should the ins. co. sell you a policy for a million dollars, when you are going to die within six months? I guess they could make the premiums prohibitively expensive, but then what's the point?

This is the biggest tax increase in the history of the world. This expands government to something we could never have imagined a few years ago. It gives them power over our lives - they control our health care, they control our lives.

MOVE NOW!!! Save yourself. I will pay for your airfare but you can't come back. If you leave, the price of a buffet in Vegas will be cheaper...kind of like insurance
  12. 1vegasgirl Full Member

You are still confusing getting health insurance with getting the care you need to save your life.
  13. A mysterius man Full Member

I was not confusing anything. I was only referring to insurance.

Unfortunately, we have no choice. That is what happens when liberty is taken away.

We will have more choice with our pets' health care than our own under this law.

Do you see as a good thing budgerock? What do you see good in it???

A healthier nation, fewer health-related bankruptcies(good for the economy), cheaper healthcare, a more productive workforce, better mental health without worry of going broke due to doctor bills.

I've lived in Europe for a bit and their healthcare system works great and is VERY popular. Hell in Massachussette, 99% of residents are covered under Romneycare and they LOVE it. No death panels, no reduction in quality of care.

Honestly most of you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about when you start crying about death panels and higher costs. Every other western culture has universal healthcare because they realize health is a PUBLIC good, like roads and bridges. It will make our nation stronger.

Dude, we all knew it was a tax. The last time I checked Obama is still a politician. And a VERY good one, at that.
