Puncher Closed by User work in the "TV industry", and you hear the name Jennifer Lawrence in an earlier post, and you say you "don't know who she is"..then, say she "has come into my job many times and you could care less" first you have never heard of her, then you say you know of her because you have seen her "multiple times" at your job. How did you know who she was when she "walked into your job" on multiple occasions when you had never heard of her, or heard of her name? And for you to say she is a "star of vampire movies" is totally off-base..obviously you do not know who the hottest actress is out there. I also didn't know Silver Linings Playbook was about vampires...

I am not trying to fight with you here..just pointing out the inconsistencies with your story. Just surprised that a guy that works in the "TV industry" has no idea who an actress like Jennifer Lawrence is..thats like saying Tom Brady has no idea who Colin Kaepernick is.

And the BS reason that Howie always uses about not being able to get guests is that they don't want to get the "hard hitting questions". My bet is that if you asked Jennifer Lawrence who Howard Stern is..she would reply with "Howard who?".

If you've seen the pictures of djenkin8 at his "entertainment industry job" posted on another site you'll understand. It also explains why he has so much time on his hands to listen to radio shows. Maybe Jennifer Lawrence doesn't have her own parking slot yet.

As far as show interviews go, besides getting more relevant guests, I'd say shortening them up would be a benefit. Repeat guests go over the same material they've gone over in their previous interviews and then the inevitable cock and cash questions start. Chopping 20 minutes off the hour plus interview time and sticking to new, current info would tighten that part of the show up a lot

That is what I dislike about the guest
They seem to be locked into an hr no matter how interesting they are

This. If the person is really famous or is a friend of the show then an hour long interview is fine, but people nobody even knows who are boring as shit does not need an hour long interview. That is the only thing I'm really disappointed in since they came to satellite is that not only are the majority of the guests bad but they go on way to long.

I'm really,100% NOT inconsistant with anything..What I do with you is try my damn best to keep it short because you just want LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNG stupid tedious arguments..Just make a comment and move on.I'm not going into every single detail of everything. You want me to comment on every single word you type.Too long.Too stupid.I work in TV,period.I don't pay attention/remember/know what movies Jennifer Lawrence is in.I'm not a Tom Brady fan so I don't know what in hell he has to do with anything..

You just can't keep it to the show. You and some of the other "Fans"..I want to comment on the show. You've proved to me that you want no peace with me and are only out to say the opposite of anything I say...If the sky is blue then you'd say that I was wrong and it's orange.....If the day comes and you want peace with me where nobody disrespects anyone or harrasses the other then I'm all for it..I am for peace with you..I'm just not into this fighting you and a certain few here are into.

Massive drug problems and possibility of murder is riveting radio. KC fucking rules.

Yes, I want Jackie back because he is apparently the only one with balls enough to put Robin in her place. Alcohol is also awesome.

Tom slowing down the show is what made him funny. And I miss the robot Tom voice. It also seemed like he actually used to DO FUCKING SOMETHING, as opposed to Tim Sabean, who fucking does NOTHING except spew corporate catchphrases and approve SHITTY FUCKING PROGRAMMING THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY THE TALENT FOR.

Robin just....ugh. She needs to go. She's not even in studio anymore. Even your mindless sheep brain can tell that Howard has become annoyed with her. Listen to the Carolla Podcast and hear what an entertaining, young, funny, smart news girl can do to make a show better. Alison is great. Robin is none of those things.

In the end....I think the change Howard truly needs to make is just leaving radio. He also needs to STOP doing shitty AGT. It's defecating all over his already nearly completely forgotten legacy. I love Howard, I truly do. He's given me more entertainment over the years than any other human on this planet, but it's time to just stop. He's nearly 60. He should retire and enjoy what he really has worked hard for. It's over. Nothing good lasts forever.

I don't think the guest are bad & since they went to 3 days the porn chicks have been less & less
Its the fact that there is no need for 60 minutes of Joan Rivers & others
30 is fine & will keep it fresh

Howard is still a great interviewer but its tough to interview anybody for 60 straight
  12. Artie' Pancreas Full Member

Funny... Leave to Howard to get on the AGT bandwagon just as the rest of the world is getting off...

    Here's what they said:

The reason I get upset when I hear people are upset with me for making changes around here, why I am making these changes is so that this place becomes better run, and our business becomes better run, so I don't want to leave in three years. Because whatever discomfort anyone is feeling around here from me making changes, it's going to be a hell of a lot worse if I announce in three years that I'm leaving.

    [Robin interrupts]

So I'm trying to say to everyone -- and I'm trying to interpret my needs -- so that everyone around here -- I'm talking about the guys who have been with me and loyal to me and worked with me -- so they understand what I'm doing. I'm trying to pressure everyone's jobs. So that they work their hardest to preserve what we have.

Yeah, but see, maybe we'll talk on the air now a little bit -- but people being upset with you is not the case.

    People are confused.

    Well . . .

    And that's not . . .

I am bring in an interpreter. You know that . . .

No, I do know that. But there is confusion here . . .

. . . I am hiring -- yes. And the confusion will stop.

    So what does this mean?

No, Artie is not coming back.
No, Jackie is not coming back.
No, Gary is not "stressed out." Gary already knows what's happening, and has probably been in on the planning of it.
No, Howard is not looking to demote, punish or get rid of any of the existing staff.

He is bringing in an interpreter. Someone from outside the show, who will not be talked about/goofed on by Howard on the show, and who will not be allowed to become an on-air character on the show. Someone to whom Howard will give a list of things that he wants to have happen over the next three years, and the explicit authority to make these things happen, including firing and hiring powers. Basically, he's hiring someone to be his enforcer, because he knows that he himself was never very good at it, and realizes at this point in his life/career that his life would be easier if he just lets someone else do it. What Letterman has in Rob Burnett, or what Larry Sanders had in Artie [not Lange]. It would be unrealistic to put Gary in this role after all these years; the staff would just never relate to him as the guy they should be afraid of if they fuck things up. Gary will probably be made "senior producer," or something like that, will not report to the new guy, and will continue to be the behind the scenes face of the show in terms of dealing with guests and publicists, and will continue his on-air role on the Stern show and in his other projects on and off of Sirius. The new guy will be "producer" or "chief of staff" or something, and will be the one that the staff have to answer to on a day to day basis and in their annual reviews.

The guy must be in a pretty cool place if Jennifer Lawrence come's by all the time and he pays no attention to her or could care less. I bet he "bumps" into Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington all the time in the restroom. What a life good old DJenkin must be having.

The interviews are just not "organic" anymore. The difference between Stern of old, and Stern of now is that he would let a guest tell and story..and finish it without the constant interruptions, and without looking at the clock all the time. How many times does he let callers ask questions? Rarely happens..and when those callers do get to ask questions its always Mary Ann and Bobo. I know Stern has to carry some of these guests..but at least let them get thru a sentence wtihout being interrupted or having Robin "chime in".

    I couldnt ag
I couldn't agree with you more. I think Artie was the best thing that ever happened to the show in terms of comedic value. I always thought Jackie was more annoying than funny but once in a while he was comedy gold. Arties reactions and laugh were almost always the funniest part of the show for me and I still find it hard to believe they can't seem to see what an asset to the show a good comedian filling that chair really was/is.

I have no clue who she is either since I haven't seen or have interest in anything you mentioned above. I would bet there are plenty of people in the world who have no idea who she is since they aren't interested in anything she is associated with. Not a dig on you or anything just saying.

A = he has a deal in place already
B = Sirius is doing a lot better than people here think. They actually are in a good position & they are no longer losing money but they owe a lot still from start-up & loans
    C = Who knows
D = he isn't an idiot. He can tell the show has fell in quality this contract

Artie and Jackie need to do a boxing match to get rights to the chair. it doesn't matter who wins because they both end up on the show creating resentmant, bitterness etc. Artie and Jackie both on the show would be awesome
