Sam Simon is right and I agree with his stance along with all the other PETA people but I just can't stop eating meat for fuck sakes. McCartney was into this whole anti-landmine campaign, but EMI had a division called Thorn that made landmines. He never made the effort to challenge his former bosses into getting them to pay cleanup, or prosthetics for victims of landmines. If you are eating meat from a grocery store chain (Krogers,Safeway,wal-Mart, Albertsons,etc)then your meat is grown exactly like the fast food chains. What do you think a major supermarket cares if the meat is grown and killed "humanely"? It is all about the lowest cost just like fast food.
You could go to a Butcher if one exists in your area or perhaps the meat sold as "organic" may be Humanely killed, but don't kid yourself most meat sold in supermarkets is processed like the fast food meat is processed.

All Sam Simon had to say on the air the other day is to watch that video and form your own opinion instead of adding all the crazy statements that came tumbling out of his mouth.

I ain't watching this. However, I quit eating meat for health reasons a few months ago. I do eat fish sometimes though, and I do currently and will continue to wear leather.

You are 100 percent correct but if we just said fuck fast food establishments and made the decision to find a local farmer to get our meat from at least we will be doing something positive. Personally I already get my meat from a local farmer and now im taking the next step and quitting fast food. Its actually cheaper if you buy your meat in bulk from a farmer anyway so why not

i do agree that it is horriable how these animals are treated, but i also agree with FUFatArtie what are we suposed to eat? it seems everything good is bad for you and i will not eat tofu(man that shit taste like..well shit). i saw the video and it is wrong what these farmers do, but the alternative to what i like sucks. if you can find better food that does not taste like shit i will give it a chance

It is horrible how they are treated and I hear you on the tofu lol I think the answer is to find a local farmer to buy your meat from and quit fast food. Its a win win. You get to keep eating meat knowing that at least the animal was raised properly and got to graze in a field before he was put down humanely

I live in the south where my family eats for 3/4 of the year off of what I kill hunting and fishing. Whether it is deer, duck, fish............ It is just part of life. I have worked on everything from cattle farms to soy bean farms to catfish farms growing up. The animals are treated with a pretty decent level of respect to a point but it is a business. It is the way those guys support their families. They are not called slaughter houses because it is a pleasant place to be, it is brutal but it is the way things are done. Sucks being lower on the food chain.

Is that video tough to watch? Of course it is. But how exactly did you dipshits think those steaks and burgers you were eating were made? Do you think there is a bit of difference in how those animals are killed for fast food compared to how they are killed for Fresh Market or Whole Foods? It is all the exact same thing. You want to go vegan? Have at it.

It is a part of life, one of those things that most people don't know but it is part of life. Get the hell over it or go out in the yard and chew on some grass for dinner.
