Well then maybe boycott factory farms and bring back the American Farmer.

I have been to and worked on both, it depends what you consider gourmet markets. Privately owned butcher shops and such will handle cattle much differently than chains but there is zero difference between a fast food cow and a fresh market / whole foods cow.

its better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all

Most of these 'harmed' animals would never exist without our appetite.

The biggest human contribution to global warming is the billion fucking scared cows farting in India. No one is eating them.

someone needs to do an expose about vegetable farming; the predominant use of illegal labor, unsanitary conditions, heavy bacterial load, rodent and insect infestations, pesticide residuals, etc.

    Thats a great idea!!

Hey, those of you presuming to hold some sort of moral high ground - is your screen powered by electricity?
Do you use electricity at all? Contribute to human suffering ever?

It's not about being perfect, it's about making conscious decisions to reduce suffering when there are perfectly viable alternatives.

I'm always going to eat McDonalds, Wendy's, steaks, etc. I really could care less how it's killed. As long as it tastes delicious going down into my fat gut, I'm happy. People like Sam Simon need to learn to respect the fact that there are millions that feel the way I do. If he wants to live a healthier lifestyle then that's his choice. I really pay 0 attention to people like him

I am so happy Howard doesn't eat Meat. I hope everybody stops eating meat!
  18. mikesbandit Full Member

oh boy. I hope you don't really believe that.

There is a "KFC chicken" but it refers to a size, not a specific chicken, since KFC sells by the piece. KFC bird is appros 1.6 - 1.7kg.

    Beef cattle in a lab??

    is this film biased?

That is PETA propaganda. Like saying a pig is as smart as a 3 year old child.

oh, the poor piggies. nobody thinks it's nice that we kill animals to eat them but it's what god/nature designed us to eat. perhaps reverting to a farming community where we raised & killed our own animals would be more humane but we don't have room for us all to have our own farms. the planet is over populated & we all need food.

I do have a serious question though, aren't most of theses videos from sting operations where plants were found in violation & either shut down or corrected? where is the video of the more humane plants that meet the government regulations?

PS - the video talks about how eating meat causes greenhouse gases, water shortages, & land degradation. lets make something clear, not eating meat will not stop any of that. the animals cause all of that. you would have to stop eating meat & then kill all the animals to stop it. as it is now, the animals population is in check. yes we grow lots of new animals but that's to replace what we've eaten. if stopped killing the animals, they would reproduce & without us eating them their numbers would increase. as their numbers increase the greenhouse gasses, water shortage, & land degradation would increase as well. it's a nice stat & all to put in a vid but if they were being truthful they'd admit the effect letting these animals loose to live out their lives would have.

I like how it implied that you could look like tobey maguire or natalie portman if you stop eating meat.
  25. topaz420 Full Member

With the dwindling resources of the planet vs. population, it makes even more sense for humanity to switch to a plant-based diet, since even factory farmed meat consumes at least 7 pounds of grains to produce 1 pound of meat.
