IMO he's totally uninteresting and unfunny - annoying even - and I can't imagine reading a book written by him or about his life. It would be tough to get through even in audio form.

I thought it was pretty interesting. I like autobiographies. :cheer:

No. Couldnt be any less interested.

I thought the chapter about his brother dying of AIDS was pretty compelling. It was rather sad actually.

I actually finished Gary's book, unlike Robin's, which is still on the bookshelf with only a few chapters read.

everyone who is a member of SFN has read his book, they can tell you that they never did but they also would tell you they dont even think about the Stern show anymore yet they are on SFN posting about it everyday...

I've read Gary's book and thought it was pretty good. I read Artie's as well, it wasn't as good as Gary's.

Haven't read Robin's book but it's on my list.

I recently pulled out Gary's book . . it is just as verbose as one would expect.
Though, if you are an Artie fan, do yourself a favor and re-read Too Fat to Fish.

I haven't read it but I listened to the audiobook. Honestly, really interesting's happened to him apart from working on Stern and his brother dying of AIDS. And he doesn't even talk about the Stern show substantially. So it's not a very exciting read.

Ehhhh... I meant *nothing really interesting...

i rented it and after a couple of boring pages, i skip to the stern show stuff. the two things about the book i like is
    1. the lists because howard bursting his ball for making them
    2. the stories about his girlfriends when he was known as Boy Gary

I listened to the audio tape when I had a week of jury duty and I was just sitting in a room waiting around. Probably would have never got to it if I wasn't forced to just sit in a room for 8 hours a day with nothing to do.

    I read the audiobook...

Yeah, I have. I've never met the guy, but in all the years I've been listening Gary has come across the most genuine, down to earth person on the show.

His music taste is absolute shit! Hall & Oates, Bruce Springsteen, Asia, John Mellencamp, Steely Dan. He is the first man of his age that I’m aware of who hates Rock n Roll. He has some sort of allergic reaction to the electric guitar…And yet he thinks he is hip and cool when it comes to music. He has spent far too much time reading Rolling Stone and letting that rag of a magazine dictate what is good and what is bad.
  24. trustimdusted Full Member

Gary's not down to earth. he thinks he's important or that people care about what he has to say. his claim to fame is being howard's whipping boy for twenty years.
