How can SFN increase traffic on this forum?

Most forums have come to a crawl with the ever and ever and seemingly ever gaining popularity of FB and Twitter....sucks but true. I have a forum, while no where near what this used to be and it's down about 100,000-150,000 hits monthly. I say just enjoy it and who gives a shit.

why? it's alexa ranking and comscore are still lower. It would be as effective as renaming it the "artiefannetwork".

Going offline for even a brief period of time is internet death. Mutt should have kept the old site going while he readied the new site.

This isn't a site that sells products or caters to a real need. Its a site for people with short attention spans looking to waste time - if you shut down they go elsewhere.

Are you new here? The entire essence of this board was negativity for years and it thrived. Stern started acting butthurt that people were aware enough to notice he was mailing his show in and had the nerve to complain about this website and the truth that was being told on it. It became nice and a graveyard all in the same week.

Im sorry but are you talking about the same forum I've been reading for 6 years? The forums have never been nicer or less interesting then they are now.

Ya, I just passed my probationary period. I guess I shouldn't have said those things? I'm just so new and just started posting? Ima new listener too so I didn't know exactly how it was supposed to be. I'm sure all the old timers like you will set me straight. Thanks jonpluc I'll remember to be way more negative and trash everything Howard does and says, oh and Beth-O too. I'll check jonpluc's enormous volume of posts so I can see how it's done so I won't step on any more toes. Remember all you newbies, jonpluc said "the entire essence of this board was negativity for years and it thrived". Let's get that negativity level up and bash away so this place will pick up.

In terms of activity, the current incarnation of Dawg's Saloon is what SFN used to be 4-5 years ago, and even amidst the "negativity" that may reside amongst a group of users over there, in my opinion it has become the most active and relevant board in the Stern fan universe. A quick viewing of the forums and user list over there shows many old-school, popular, and active posters of SFN's glory days there now.

I've tried several times to add to the activity, but can't do much because of the probationary period.
Most of the threads/comments I could make revolve around questions regarding the history of the show. Because of clips from the thousands of hours of tapes Howard got, most of those questions have been answered... except one.
QUESTION: Back in the day, if Howard said a word with "mini" in it, like "miniskirt," people in the studio would repeat it with high-pitched voices. I never found out how it started, or why it stopped. Does anyone have info? I'd love to hear it. Thanks.

I think they were imitating the original Gina Girl.
(not the hot one who was in his New Years' PPV special)
