How important is a firm hand-shake to you?

Assuming any of you were ever to be in the position of hiring someone :jj2: :jj: ... Would a wet-noodle type handshake hinder the interviewee's chances of getting hired? Or is this something you don't put much stock in??

yes, you can't trust someone who doesn't have a firm handshake

Don't know if it'd preclude someone's chances of getting hired, but a dead fish handshake doesn't help.

Eeesh, you just reminded me of someone we use to have at work. He had a wet, dripping handshake.
    Horrible.

Poor guy, I always suspected that something terrible happened to him.

Handshakes are very regional. I lived in Ukraine for a while and a firm handshake isn't the normal thing there.

When I shake people's hands, I often hear their bones crunch under the pressure of my grip. Sometimes I see their eyes twitch, but no one ever complains.

He cowered and ran away. You know the story. I don't judge him. He's cool.

Not much to elaborate? Sometimes you'll get a limp handshake, not something to avoid travelling to the country for :jj:.

I think Vladivostok is in Russia, but I could be mistaken. I love Ukraine, girls are beautiful, everything is dirt cheap, and it is a great central place to travel across Europe. The downsides are you should speak the language, not a lot of foreigner friendly places to go to besides casinos and strip clubs.

I'm going back there for about 4 months at the end of March.

My parents were born there. I've been fluent in Russian my whole life. I lived in Ukraine for about 4 years (went to school and worked there). So I am fluent in Ukrainian too.

:jj: I got a girl over there.
