True. I think the talk of "replacing" Howard is silly. No one will ever have the success or appeal of Howard.

Never say never, and either way, why does Howard go "You're the guy" to Bubba?

All hail King Sponge. Even the Romans went through more than 1 emperor.

I "heard" that there is a chance that Cox could put Bubba on more stations. I asked someone about a specific Cox station in south Florida and I was told that it is a possibility. Cox took Bubba's two strongest markets (from his old days) and put him on in those two markets. I have a feeling that they are just waiting to see what happens. Cox is owned by a very conservative group of people. (which surprises me that they'd sign Bubba) I imagine that they want to see what will happen before pursuing it further.

If Cox is that conservative it does seem odd but remember it's all about the $$$ for Cox.

Well, from what I hear from friends in the business, they've been cutting back on a lot and firing some decent talent to cut costs. They've been doing this for the past 6 months or so to find some scratch to pay bubba with. It's certainly a risk for them.

I don't get why everyone thinks Bubba will get fired within months of starting on "testicle?" The only decent argument I have heard is that it's an election year, but I think Bubba is pretty much off the radar nationally, unlike Howard was. I think Bubba and crew know what they need and are allowed to do within the FCC guidelines. Any "racey" stuff will be on the afternoon Sirius show. This 2 different show fiasco would have never ever happened if Sirius would have ponied up some decent money for the show instead of wasting it on the Jamie Foxx's of the world.

I don't think he'll get fired. The FCC hasn't fined anyone for indecency since the Howard/Bubba stuff. There is a case (that I believe the supreme court has) that will basically overturn all of these so they aren't going to do it again. Bubba would have to say the 7 dirty words everyday and the station would have to not bleep them for them to risk getting fined/fired. It's only a risk because the radio companies (cbs and clearchannel to name names) have really been pussies and haven't fought like they should have. If they had fought for Howard and Bubba (and then other talent) we wouldn't be in the situation we're in.

Fortunately, we have sirius, so we don't give a fuck either way.

I personally hope Sirius gets this merger thru and can up Bubba's offer for another 2 years. I don't want to deal with this shit at the end of 2008 again on whether he stays on Sirius or not. Didn't Brent touch on something about an extended deal a few weeks ago? Maybe I just saw it posted here.

This dude hit the nail pretty much on the head.

The FCC has its hands full because there's a case that Fox and CBS (Immagine that, a broadcasting company with a set of balls) are taking to the Supreme Court that would force the FCC to make a ruling on what is and isn't indecent. Thats been the big sticking point for so long, There's no clear definition of what's "Indecent". Right now its "Left to the community standards", which is Kentucky fucking Windage at its best, especially for a bunch of greedy right wing asspirates who've hijacked this country.

    Sorry. Got a little heated.

Anyways, I've got Sirius so I get Uncensored BTLS. And I get to start my day with him, every day. Very nice.

Lucky bastards in Florida. :D I have heard of this case and it's about time someone makes the FCC clarify what exactly is indecent. It'll be an interesting case to watch.

I never heard of Bubba until he hit Sirius. I love his show since I found him on H101, but I can't see his show on a "policed" terrestrial radio broadcast.

I'm thinking he might not last on terrestrial with "big brother" watching. Hopefully something will happen to get him back 100% exclusive on Sirius!!!!
