As annoying as Nick Dipaolo is, he does a killer Bloomberg impression. If he would just roll with that impression the whole show, i'd probably like radio still.

I agree with Bloomberg on this one. Yeah, its America, people should be able to do what they want. And they can obviously just buy 4 smalll cokes and make up for their sick obsession with soda.

Fast food/soda overuse leads to health problems, that leads to us all coming more out of pocket for health care... Its bad enough as it is! Take care of yourselves, people!

Howard's hypocrisy knows no bounds, again calling soda "poison" but how much did he earn by plugging "Sodastream" soda makers and Cheetah Power Surge.

Please let us never forget that he ran for Governor as a LIBERTARIAN.

Howard's all for this nanny state shit as long is it's shit that him and his Hampton's elitist pals agree with, if the government wanted to regulate private jets, private beachfronts or enormous housing units he'd be screaming from the rooftops.

Jon Stewart's point was well made and Howard is living in a dream world. Personally, I don't buy soda and don't buy those huge-sized beverages. I also don't smoke. I wish people wouldn't smoke because it's very bad for them, but I don't feel that I have the right to interfere in someone's life to that extent. Bloomberg is overstepping his authority on this one. There is nothing else in NYC needing attention?

HA, EXACTLY!!! This SOB has to dry hump every local politician and cop no matter what their agenda because he thinks it'll give him more of a police escort state of mind. When you don't drive or go anywhere it's easy to praise cops and Mayors. I can't fucking wait for Bloomberg to target something that hits close to home on Howard.

You nailed some good ones. Or something that spoiled divas can't do without IN the city like Chinese delivery people on bikes or just bike delivery in general. Or the friggin dog walking thing. NOTHING would give me greater pleasure than Beth O getting a big fat ticket for Bianca shitting on an Upper West Side sidewalk.

Assface Bloomberg is STILL trying to upstage Giuliani out of insecurity with the stupidest BS he can think of on a daily basis. The soda thing is SOOOO arbitrary as well. I am not allowed to get a 40 oz DIET soda as well, who regulates that? Can I go into 7-11 and mix them still? Aren't there several COFFEE options that well over 16 oz (Starbucks for one) where you can put as much sugar, milk, and syrup as you want?? OOOHHH I guess Bloomie must drink coffee, so that doesn't count.

Is he actually nervous people are angry over the lack of public bathroom access in selfish NYC and limiting the wizz inducing drinks will stymie this and it's not actually a "health concern"? And what's the goal in the end, to look like fucking Howard or Bloomberg if I follow his rules.? A wrinkly ghostly skinny/fat Jew is what we're all going for with no flexibility or upper body strength? Do you know ANYONE who's gained weight from fucking soft drinks/soda anyway??? So if I'm a regular cardio addict do I get a immunity pass to 40 oz soda?

NYC is dead to me, I'm never going in again. I hate the people, the overpriced and entitled sports teams, the politicians. These cocksuckers will not get my day-tripper money if it kills me.

And the worst thing and every rich guy does this (usually Republicans) with the "my tax dollars" bullshit line is Howard thinks HE'S personally paying for the doctor's visit for the people that are negatively effected by sugary soft drinks. I think at this point I would voluntarily get diabetes ONLY if I knew Howard were PERSONALLY paying and the co-payment.

It's funny I was in Buenos Aires last month and it was one of the most beautiful cosmopolitan cities I have ever been to. The people were were well dressed, and SLIM. (the woman were gorgeous BTW). They obviously don't have a control freak mayor that needs regulate how big the Slurpees are. They're doing just fine.

Sorry but this hits home as this is my native city. It was tough enough living through the Guiliani "POLICE STATE" years but now this???

This used to be the coolest, liberal city and now it's a corporate Disneyland.

EXACTLY, ANY other country doesn't have these issues because people are PROUD to walk and bike and dare I say run or swim everywhere. We (I am guilty at times) have waayyyyy too many options to just stay home and do nothing active with all the video games, vast TV channels, on demand movies, satellite 24 hr radio, internet access etc etc. It's THE reason why like Wii and XBOX kinect or PS3 move was created to even the score but that seems to be failing. Just embrace it, if self motivation doesn't work to stay in shape, nothing will.

I'm not a fucking manorexic, or a surgeon general, I don't give a shit who's fat and who's not, and I'm not alone!

This is all bullshit. The Mayor is not a dictator. He's an administrator. His job is to administer and enforce the law. He can't make up laws. He can suggest laws, he can lobby for laws, but all laws have to be proposed and passed by the New York City Council. Bloomberg just made this up and said it. That's as far as I think it will ever go.

In 2010, Bloomberg proposed barring people from using food stamps to purchase sugary sodas. The U.S. Department of Agriculture rejected the proposal saying it would be too difficult to enforce.

Also in 2010, Bloomberg urged state legislators to pass a soda tax that would allow the state to collect an additional penny per ounce of sugared soda sold; it failed to pass.

Bloomberg sure seems to have something against the beverage industry...

So is it CARBONATION he hates and not actual sugar? Like I said, he doesn't seem to be concerned with COFFEE houses where you can dump AS much crap into your OVER 16 oz coffee as you want is he? I'm guessing he's an avid coffee drinker or he has something at stake with that industry.

Disagree with Bloomberg, but you have to be pretty naive to think that your pocketbook isn't adversely affected by obesity...unless you think $190 billion a year is chump change.

Now that obesity cost more $$ than smoking in healthcare costs, it's time to treat them equally. I shouldn't have to pay more for healthcare because Jason Kaplin's (insert 1 of 10 staff members) eating addictions.

Is Stewart always this animated? I know he always did the 'pause & shift the eyes' thing, but he sounds like Dennis Leary on crack here.

Well maybe you are not from this town but if you knew anything about how he bullied his way to his illegal 3rd term as mayor then perhaps you would change your tune.."Dictator tendencies" might be more appropriate

His hypocrisy is in overdrive on this one. How about "cupcake wednesdsays" from Crumbs..a ONCE advertiser on the show. I bet those cupcakes were all "fat free" right Howie? Or lets talk about Becks or Heineken beer...ONCE advertisers on the show. I am sure those beers do not contribute to obesity in any way..right Howie? All these advertisers have since pulled away from the Stern show, but at one time they advertised.

I don't drink soda much, but its not "poison" as Howie states. What about all these bogus fake viagra ads that advertise on the show...they are "great" for your body..right Howie? Nothing poisonious about them.

Trying to ban soda drinks is ridiculous, but of course Howie thinks its a great idea, so all his "super fans" are lock step with him.
