I think most people on this site would think of me as a sycophant. But I'm not. I tell the truth about Howard. And while I think he's a great entertainer, and I don't give a shit about Beth one way or the other, and I think if Howard want to do AGT that's fine with me, it doesn't mean I have to watch it, and I don't think he wears a wig, I also think Howard is a real asshole about some things, and music is one of them.

I don't think Howard is a big "fan" of anyone's music, really. I think Howard has a shallow, surface interest in music, much like he has a shallow, surface interest in just about everything. To me, his musical interest seems more like posing then a real love of it.

I mean, I don't think the man hates music, but you guys know what it's like to be a real fan of a musician. You know what it's like to read every magazine article about them, to own all their albums, and know the lyrics to all their songs, and see them every time they're in town, or want too if you can't. You know what it's like to follow them. Do you think Howard does that? Do you think he ever did something like that?

Think about this: If you asked Howard to name the three John Lennon songs that he knows the best, do you think he would know all the lyrics to those songs?

If push came to shove, if your life depended on Howard getting all the words to "Imagine" right, do you really think he could do it?

How big of a John Lennon fan do you really think Howard is?

My buddy always said Howard really doesn't know music that much and he knows pretty much nothing about sports. we used to say it was easy to see how he was not popular growing up.

Lennon's sudden and unexpected death also eerily parallels Howard's radio show.

I always thought if John Lennon had lived, he would love Howard and be a regular on the show.

Lot of good points in there. I agree that Howard's musical interests are shallow and often shift with the wind. An example was the other day when he mentioned they asked his favorite song or artist for AGT and he mentioned Led Zeppelin. If you were as huge a Beatles fan as he claims to be you'd have an immediate response but he mentioned Zeppelin, a band he has criticized for stealing riffs and being derivative.

Howard couldn't of been pleased with NBC leaving the clip in where Howie and Sharron goof on him yesterday. He hates being the bud of the joke

Yeah, I agree. I remember back in the '80s, I used to always shake my head when he was wearing tee shirts of The Exploited and T-Rex.

...Also, anyone else notice that in about 30 years of being on the radio he's never gotten one song lyric right...even the beetlejuice song. Still a huge Stern fan but just sayin'

I think Big Bird is his hair influence these days.

Here's a photo of John's father, Freddie. I'm not sure how old he is in this picture.

Howard used to go home and sit in the basement after a long day at work. Now he goes home and photoshops pictures of Beth.

:rolleyes:OOHHH every SOB from Howard's generation is obsessed with John Lennon and THE BEATLES, let me know when someone ISN'T or WASN'T. To me THAT'S a waaayyy more interesting conversation. And they ALL still act like it's so original and rebellious. As influential as they were and are the amount of baby-boomer dry-humping they get just makes my mind flatline because it's just so safe, boring and in many instances forced.

It's kind of a like me as a huge NBA fan my whole life when I hear people of my generation gush over Michael Jordan,Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson I just go dead in the head out of the safety and unoriginality of it all. Now if you want to talk about how great Karl Malone and John Stockton were you have my full attention.

Stealing almost everything at this point it was proven right? I don't know how ANYONE can take them seriously or bring them up with any pride after that shit. Even BEFORE they were proven thieves I always thought of Zeppelin as boring with shitty, trite, to pretentious lyrics that do nothing in terms of making me think on any level.

I'll take the Seattle Grunge movement over both of them any day!
