Howard Stern has proven to be a monster hit with America’s Got Talent, so NBC has decided to replace Jay Leno with Stern.
Ratings for “America’s Got Talent” have gone through the roof with Howard Stern as a new judge and NBC is thrilled. They have long been looking for a way to get rid of Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” and the finally have their answer.
“We think Howard is the best possible host for The Tonight Show. We think he will at least triple Jay’s ratings and may soon become the highest rated late night host of all time,” said a source close to executives at NBC.
How could NBC just dump Leno like that? ”It’s easy,” said an executive. ”Leno was fired once and he can be fired again. We’ve never been that happy with him, but there was never anyone to take his place. We tried Conan. But Howard… he’s a rock star.”

The King of All Media, who years ago sided with David Letterman in the Late Night Wars, is confident that he will be the “King of Late Night.” He has already proven to be the greatest judge of talent in the world and he will use that talent to destroy the competition in late night.

When Stern accepted the AGT gig, he told NBC executives he refuses to promote the show on Leno’s show, and vowed once again never to appear with Letterman’s longtime rival.
Howard has a longtime feud with Leno. The radio host has accused the late-night quasi legend of ripping off his material. Stern appeared on Piers Morgan’s CNN show recently and told the host, “Jay is insane. And Jay is a crook. And the world knows exactly what he’s up to. He steals a tremendous amount of material,” Stern said.

Stern once said of Leno, ”Just the mere mention of Jay Leno’s name makes me to want to vomit,” calling the ‘Tonight Show’ host, “a f****** con man, rip-off artist, no idea mother*******.”
Industry insiders say the hiring of Stern for “Late Night” is the smartest move since Warren Littlefield convinced the network NOT to cancel “Seinfeld.”

I was thinking this was a gag, but the "Weekly World News" now there's a source.

I'm sure you think everything Leno does is awesome while everything Howard does sucks.

This would piss off the high number of Jay Leno defenders that take up space here on SFN.Jay Leno can do no wrong to those guys.

The announcer should be Beetlejuice.

NBC tried an insignificant host once...Conan...and they failed. If the brought in Stern? He gets the boot faster than Conan did. NBC execs have to be upset over the time and money they spent on AGT with Stern, and how much of a bust it has been so far...so Stern on The Tonight Show would NEVER happen..sorry sycophants.

AGT sucks.. But Stern on the Tonight Show is something I could get into.. Probably a fake article, but hopefully something like this happens....

How could Howard do the Tonight Show? He can't even manage six days a month for his radio show. He's too old and tired to put in the time and effort for the Tonight Show.

Yea, could you imagine? Howie behind the desk and Robin as his sidekick on the couch? It would be a horrible show, and NBC knows that. Never going to happen...the day Leno retires for good, I bet they would bring in Fallon..but never Stern. They would have to move The Tonight Show to NY, and do the show 3 days a week..so Howie can hang out in the Hamptons the rest of the time. Sorry "super fans"..never, ever going to happen. NBC wouldn't want the drop in ratings.

It's not happening...

I won't be surprised if Arsenio winds up on the Tonight Show, Conan's contract with TBS ends and winds up replacing Dave.

That would really make you mad...
