    It is a huge festival, with a lovely beer garden as well as a whole bunch of other things, cream puffs, eclairs, and the term bake potatoes originated from here (we go to the Maine house for them). No bikes, it is supposed to rain and we plan on getting plenty drunk as we do every year. We will stay at a local hotel.

    Sorry, it is the Eastern States Exposition, google it , it is pretty cool.

    If we don't make it to the game we may still go to the State Fair. There is something about going to a place where I may be killed that invigorates me. The State Fair of Texas has always delivered.

    Re: spices...My spice rack looks like Mr. Warmth's too. I had old jars of stuff from Food Lion after we moved out of the state that had the Food Lion in it.

    Also I swear my mom had some of the same spices for my entire life. She had these old cans of curry powder and cooking sherry and worcestershire that I think she used in the 60s when my parents used to host parties and stuff. She had a can of cloves, too. I hope she threw all of that stuff out.
