How about all the pharmaceutical commercials that tell people to "ask your Doctor if _____ is right for you." After telling you how many side affects there are and not really explaining what the medication is for.

There is a vested interest in making people believe they are not well.

Then a few years after they advertise the drug, a commercial comes on asking you to join a class action suit against it. It all goes round in a very expensive circle.

I believe that the expansive use of medical testing that is being done now is not to look for a specific problem but to cover the doctors ass in case something goes seriously wrong with the patient while being treated. America is sue happy and the Doctors are just covering their asses to avoid a negligence lawsuit.

They make drugs like they used to make dams. With the death costs included in the price.

Agreed that some treatements, especially antibiotics are overprescribed. We've had articles about this many times in the past... but you don't see that this is the left wing attempting to sell you bs that rationing is a good thing....

Why a political spin to everything? Its a group of doctors. We live in an overmedicated society. We take too many pills and are subjected to too many tests. I think we are sicker as human beings today than ever before because we fill our bodies with too many chemicals. Im all for alternative treatments. Theyve worked on me. And even if it was from the left, are you going to oppose something that is ultimately good because it comes from a group of people you otherwise would disagree with?

    That's just dumb.

Here's what we got. $400,000 for Cheney's new heart. Too bad the rest of him is worn out. Plus the expensive drugs needed to keep his ass alive. Plus all the Dr. visits. For what? An old man who won't live long anyway. A lesson in futility.
For some reason, we have decided that we must keep every god damn cell alive at any cost.

Somehow we have developed this strange idea about death. Should a half a million dollars be spent on an old man who has already fulfilled his biological purpose? He has procreated and passed along his bad heart genes to another generation.

How about all the people who are on life support and brain dead? The family can't agree what to do with them, and god forbid we let them die. There was a show on Frontline about it and it was really good. (Facing Death)
Watch it if you have time, it's really interesting.

Why do Democrats want our ex-Vice Presidents to die?
  17. Chrisfromvegas Full Member

It goes beyond Cheney and politics. They don't ask political affiliation at the hospital. (Although they should)

I agree. They should ask socialists to pay up front.
  19. Chrisfromvegas Full Member

At least the socialists want to pay for their own care. The republicans want to continue to sponge off of others by using the emergency room and sticking the rest of us with the bill.

If his therapy is payed for with money that he has or money can get from his family or money he can borrow from someone willing to loan it to him or by insurance that he acquired with similar funds then yes - it is no one elses business.

In any other case the answer is most certainly NO.

Those impoverished people in emergency rooms... not Republicans, dude... maybe you need to see a Demographic map...
  22. Chrisfromvegas Full Member

Let's make em' pay. I think we can at least agree on that.
