I work in the health care industry and I can tell you for a fact that this is true.
But don't let the patients off the hook either.
They think the doctor doesn't know what he's doing if he doesn't do enough testing.
These doctors can't win either way and it's YOU...the American public's fault.
You want to eat and drink or smoke anything you want and then when you MAKE yourself chronically sick you expect doctors to fix you at minimal cost.

I support fewer medical tests too...

    ...for you.

Not for me though, fuck I want every test available from modern medicine to make sure I stay healthy.

Retort reform? That's a diversion only naive moonbats believe that is constantly thrown out there to protect the system-rigging, money-grabbers .

Law suits make up a tiny portion of total healthcare expenditures -- should we fix it? Of course! But tort reform will make very little difference in the overall healthcare picture.

    :eek!:

I was going to post the whole article but it must just be over the 'limit'. Anyway, here's some of it.

Nine medical societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Cardiology, representing nearly 375,000 physicians are challenging the widely held perception that more health care is better, releasing lists Wednesday of tests and treatments their members should no longer automatically order.
The 45 tests and procedures considered to be overused include:
    • Repeat colonoscopies within 10 years of a first test
    • Early imaging for most back pain
    • Brain scans for patients who fainted but didn't have seizures
    • Antibiotics for mild- to-moderate sinusitis unless symptoms last for seven or more days or worsen
    • Stress cardiac imaging or advanced non-invasive imaging in the initial evaluation of patients without cardiac symptoms unless high-risk markers are present
    • PAP smears on women younger than 21 or who have had a hysterectomy for a non-cancer disease
    • Advanced imaging or bone scans in patients with early-stage breast or low-grade prostate cancer
    • Bone scan screening for osteoporosis in women younger than 65 or men younger than 70 with no risk factors
    • Routine cancer screening on dialysis patients with limited life expectancies
    • Chemotherapy for sickest cancer patients

Post a link because this looks a lot like the one that was debunked months ago... but you don't seem to bother with small things like facts, Retard.

Typical conservatard, always wanting a handout.

Do your own research, moron -- as if it's not common knowledge that the reddest take the most entitlements. Then again, you're just another misinformed, right-wing media moonbat - so it makes sense that you're unaware of the TRUTH!!

Turn off Rush O'Hannibeck on the radio and try a little independent reading on your own for once in your life, zimmie.

There are states like Texas for example that have had tort reform for a better part of a decade, yet their insurance premiums have continued to skyrocket. I'm sure tort reform is saving SOMEONE money, but it sure isn't the consumer.
  13. Kill Van Kull Full Member

Notwithstanding the fact that "$250 billion a year" is a number made-up ManGRavy, reality remains that tort reform is just not the savior that the moonbat, right-wing media purports it to be.

And no matter how much the fox news watching retards repeat it, it has never been shown by any legitimate estimate to save more that a few tenths of one percent of the overall healthcare money spent in America each year.

In 2009 the CBO estimated savings by tort reform to be $54 billion over 10 years
    ;
Think of the savings if we had enacted this years ago... but then, you're not really all that good at thinking.

Neither are you ! Tort Reform will never happen !
  16. Kill Van Kull Full Member

Right zimmie. And from the CBO's analysis that you're citing, they conclude that tort reform "would reduce total national health care spending by about 0.5 percent."

    Just like I said.

Do you enjoy the taste of my sneaker daily or are you really that stupid?

Keep posting dumb owned pictures. You simply ignore savings whereever it can be found, and then complain about doctors and insurance companies.

You're the fool who insists on lining the pockets of trial attorneys at the public's expense.
    Congrats, retard.
  18. Kill Van Kull Full Member

Right zim. It's me that ignoring.

Only thing is, you and you're fellow moonbat right-wing regurgitators are ready to go to war to avoid a single-payer plan -- one that produce SAVINGS of at least 45 and 55 percent over our present costs -- some say much more.

All to protect a few fat cat 1 percenters -- that aren't you.

So, tell us again who is "ignoring savings whereever they can be found?'

...yet again. Don't get my laces wet, lick just the bottom, you glutton for punishment.
