I was listening to the "traction" clip from the Satellite years (I'm a little behind) and hearing Artie's laugh made me miss him intensely. I had the urge to find every show that Artie did with Howard Stern and listen to all of them again.

In the next clip where Artie becomes the Emotional Friend, Howard cracks up in such a genuine way that I haven't heard in a long time. I realized that I haven't heard him laugh like that since Artie was on the show.

Yeah, just felt like saying that. You angry people can all post angry stuff now. [IMG]

I know Artie's tweeted show members and talked about his time there on his podcast, but does anyone know if he's mentioned whether or not he still listens to the show? He and his dad were lifelong superfans, would be great to hear his thoughts on the show without him.

It would be great to have Artie there to rein in some of the incessant uber gay AGT talk, and talk about sports every now and then (like he used to), as well as do a little anal ring tossing (he WAS the LORD of the Anal Ring Toss, after all...)

I've been laughing at Arties quitter. Some great "story telling thru pics" and staged silly shit. And not a lot of wasted RT and @ posts. I've quit following MANY great stand up comedians because they just aren't funny on the quitter. Artie is the opposite on both accounts.

I've been a stern show addict since ~2000. The best years are the Sirius years, 2006-12/2009. Artie was the best. I've listened to plenty of old shows and "best of" crap, and the Artie years were the BEST. Ive been listening to old shows from 2008 and it's sad. What a loss. Howard isn't retarded, he knows how shitty it is without artie.

I listened to an old show with Artie on it the other day. Wow am I glad he's gone. One screeching halt after another.

If you think you miss Artie, imagine how Howard feels. He's not dumb, he DID hire the guy, ya know...

Dude - his laugh sometimes made the difference between boring and funny. Sometimes I would tune in and hear him laughing at something and start smiling without even knowing what was going on yet.

Every time I hear a replay with Artie, I cringe.
It is torture listening to him hijack very bit, every interview ans every news story.
    Glad he's gone.

You have to remember there was Good Artie and Bad Artie. Good Artie was funny, humble most of the time, lucid and could pick his spots. Bad Artie (I'm assuming mostly when he was drugged) was arrogant, belligerent, paid attention only sporadically, and would try to crowbar unfunny stories that never ended into discussions that many times didn't have anything to do with what he was talking about. The problem is that Bad Artie showed up way too much during his last 2 years. But like McNulty, WHEN he was good, he was a true murder police.

One thing I know about Artie is he's much better at radio than he is at trying to kill himself OHHHHH
