Is it worth it to get Sirius now?

I want to make sure I have it when Howard moves over, but ya never know when that could be. Supposed to be January, but he could be booted by then. So, I want to be ready, but is Sirius worth having without Howard? For those of you who already have it, it is any good? Do you listen to it alot? What do you listen to?

I'll probably just go with the cheapest (boombox) to get started. How much does it cost altogether to get set up and going? Do you pay the $13/mo all at once? Extra fees?

If the only reason you are getting it is to hear Howrd, I would wait. Hopefully by then, they will be offering some better quality equipment. Right now, sirius's equipment is bulky and out of date.

I'm waiting till the last minute to buy my system aswell.I listen to the music stations on Dish Network and I can't wait to put that shit in my house and vehicles. No stupid ass commercials and the djs for the music stations know their shit and play great shit.Plus all March Madness,NFL if they had the Baseball games I'd already be a suscriber.I'm hoping the newest best thing will be avaliable a month befrore Howard moves.Howards rolling the dice waiting till December as long as he doesn't lose anymore markets tween now and then he'll make his point.

Do you like music? Do you listen to your radio a lot now?

I do. I love music, but had to just pop in cd's because radio sucks. I got Sirius because howard was going, but I also got the free internet 7 day trial. I loved the music selection. There is so much.

I've got 1 receiver and two docking ports, one in the car, one for my stereo. I don't listen at home mostly because I live in the woods and will be moving soon so I don't want to do a full install only to remove it. But I listen to it all the time in the car. Octane mostly (hard rock) but there's over 100 music stations and a whole bunch of talk/sports/entertainment.

If you really love your radio, get Sirius now. if not, don't. And I pay 13 bucks every month. No extra fees and very easy to set up. Total, 1 receiver two docking ports, close to 300 bucks.

I have Sirius and I dig it. So yeah, I'd recommend getting it now. The 80's channel is my favorite. :band:

I have had SIRIUS for 4 months now and don't have one ounce of regret. I have not listened to FM radio for more than a total of 6 minutes since I have had SIRIUS (seriously...that's not an exageration). So if you like music and talk radio and can afford the monthly (or yearly) subscription...it is definitely worth it! ... with or without Howard.

So you don't listen to Howard then? Are you not a fan? :p

So, what I'm hearing, if I'm a big music fan (which I am-BIG TIME) then I should go ahead and get it. But someone mentioned their reception sucks. Is that a common problem? That concerns me. Also, do you pay the $13/mo all up front for the year or pay month by month?
I do listen to radio alot. Mostly for the music (& Howard of course), but I also like listening to a couple of the local dudes talk Chicago/National sports then spin. Howard rarely talks sports. I'll still always listen to him over them, but I need my local sports talk and hard rock.
Side note: My wife told me she read Courtney Love is getting a channel on Sirius, is that right? Do you know when? Will it be extra? Same questions for Pam.

They'll need to get Courtney a camera and a website for all the nude pictures she'll take of herself.

I have Sirius in both my cars and it's amazing there's tons of channels rap has 4, rock has like 10 there's love songs, dance songs and the songs are the number 1 songs not the bullshit ones, espn, et, comedy on & on. Plus Howard in a few months???? Definitely worth it

Reception is funny. I can't say it's horrible. it's not. But the satellites move. There's three. Now, I half assed my installation in my car. I've got the antenna on the dash, simply because I plan on selling my car and don't want an extensive removal. Reception, 95% of the time is great. Every once in a while, going under bridges and stuff, it can get spotty, but it quickly comes back. No static though like you have on FM

I pay 13 monthly, you can pay for a year, two years, or lifetime too.

There's several sports stations and they're pretty good. And I don't know about Courtnet, but I don't believe it'll be extra. They don't charge extra for any content. It's all the same price.
