He gets paid for filling 4 hours of otherwise dead air "n" times a year, which he is doing in the way that is easiest for him. I doubt he considers to any great degree what people think about it, there are no ratings incentives (or even real ratings) to do otherwise.

F me, just listening to the show. Over an hour on AGT so far. Can I cancel a lifetime sub? F me what a bore fest.

Meh, people forget about when he used to go on long tangents about having to fly to California to tape his E! interview show during the early 90's. And that was when he was in his prime.

What I'm gonna dread is when he starts whining about doing it on full blast.

They're promoting, or pre-promoting, sometimes the talk when he was filming private parts was boring...when he was making 'Son of the Beach' he had all of the people associated with it on...

Seriously i would enjoy the AGT talk if it became "a peak behind the curtain" of how a tv show works.

So far its totally shallow and just been a premise to launch into his too repetitive themes;

A) im hideous.
B) bowel movement and toilet fixation.
C) remind people how popular i am and how my fans are wild.
D) i have to get up early.
E) im so exhausted, you have no idea how hard i work.

Please talk about your cohosts, talk about what a tv production is like. Talk about what is as expected and what has been a surprise. Something REAL and SPECIFIC please. Anything.

Howard's fans have a wide range of different opinions about AGT,Richard and Sal,Robin and everything about the show....No matter what goes on THSS everybody will still listen and still watch AGT just to see what Howard does or says.

I like hearing the inside stuff. I think it sets up the show and creates tension for when he's actually on. It beats a sybian ride any day. I'm glad he stopped that. It got old after the first year.

I just remember them telling Stuttering John he was leaving the show to work for Leno and the show was cutting edge..this is no longer a cutting edge show in any way

And the Mary McCormick interview?Pretty bad when a non eventful ETM call is the highlight.

He could scale it back some and I wouldn't complain but there is about as much AGT talk as there was PP, or Less Moonves lawsuit, or American Idol rumors etc... so it doesn't surprise me. If you didn't know this was coming you haven't been listening.

Don't think of it as AGT, think of it as AGT DVD XXXtras before the DVD's are on the market. Or AGT behind the scenes, "the reality show" without the picture to accompany it. Or AGT behind the scenes the audio book.

All of this even before the show is close to air. Howard is just making sure when it hits air it's the best ratings that any of these shows has ever seen. And with 4 hrs a day to pump it it will be the highest rated show of this ilk ever. There is no other show on the planet that has 4 hrs a day advertising for free. Trust me NBC is banking on it.

This formula has worked for the show for 30 years. Why change something that's proven to work over and over again. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

That's a given just a matter of time.
