IMO, Israel is not going to attack Iran. Iran will back down under sanctions, allow inspections and Obama will take the credit.

If Israel does attack Iran, Iran is going to strike back and fuck up Israel and a lot of people will die. Israel knows this, they are not going to strike and allow that to happen to their country.

Funny, Saddam Hussein used to keep Iran in check. Thanks Bush...

    unfortunately,

there are enough israeli-zionist & Christian fundamentalist (who want to usher in the end/last days) that something can go terribly well,

ironically, if iran has a mature nuclear deterrent, then its possible for regional peace. one can argue that pakistan and india, despite minor border issues and territorial disputes, get along because both have a nuclear deterrent. in this case, israel doesn't want to be checked ... so they'll play their part to ensure iran doesn't have an equal footing.

Now that Iranian financial institutions have been pretty much cut off from doing international transactions, I would assume this is going to end quickly and quietly.

Yeah, and our entire fleet is heading their way and will be there very soon. Decision day is coming.

Look for the Presidents approval numbers to jump after Iran takes a knee.

No doubt. And the Republicans will be proven wrong again. I don't care what Iran says the last thing ANY country wants to see is our carriers parked off their coast. It's amazing Obama was there for the taking a year ago and now everything seems to be working out in his favor.

I'll credit him for giving diplomacy the chance to work, war should always be the very last resort but Iran pushed itself into that corner all by themselves.

I kinda thought something was up when Obama said the US does not bluff. He hasn't used language like that before, I think he truly was sending Iran a message, now we'll see how crazy they really are.

The problem is that a nuclear Iran may lead to more nuclear weapons proliferation in the region. What scares me more than Israeli zionists, right wing christian fundamentalists, or a nuclear Iran for that matter is a bunch of crazed Wahhabi arab monarchies armed with nukes.

i agree that there is a lot to be concerned about; israel hasn't been a fully responsible nuclear partner either, it should be noted - by supplying south africa with weaponry for a nuclear test; additionally, Israel provided secret military technology to russia in the 80s in exchange for exit-visas for Russian Jews.

Also they are still selling US military technology to China.

Israel now admits Iran isn't actually building a nuclear bomb. They still want to bomb them though. So why the fuck wouldn't Iran start building nukes? Makes you wonder if that's the point.

Look at precedent from recent years. The USA was willing to invade a country for weapons they didn't have. Now all the same rhetoric is being used against Iran. Irans got to be looking at the situation carefully. They know the US will invade and attack a country for having WMD's even when they don't. Even when they know they don't have them.

So whether Iran builds a bomb or not, it has little to do with if they'll be attacked. From Iran's perspective building a bomb may actually be the more peaceful option. It'll help prevent war.

I think it all comes down to those that wanted war with Iraq see it as a success. Now there's the push to move on that strategy of shattering middle eastern countries onto Iran. That's all this is about.

It's about having countries they can't do this to. If Iran gets nukes, it'll help protect their people and the entire middle east. As long as middle eastern countries are below a certain level of military technology, things like the Iraq war happen. At least that would certainly make complete sense from their perspective. Their perspective is something most people in the west don't even stop to consider. Mainly because it's too uncomfortable to see how much fucking has been done to the middle east.

There's a reason books like "I am legend" have the endings changed when adapted for the mainstream movie audience. People can't even handle the basic concept.

its as simple as looking at Iran on a map, they are surrounded by US forces in afghanistan and US forces in Iraq on the other side. For all intents and purposes these are enemy troops from a country who has spent the last dozen year saber rattling ...if we were in that position we'd do the same thing, anyone would
