I'm not opposed to this idea, but since it's never happened before, I think it's unlikely to happen. By the way, I think there needs to be just enough government to make sure that the power of the corporations doesn't get out of control. The problem is that we have an assload of government right now and the corporations are still out of control.

You are lacking knowledge in basic spelling. Why don't you and NC-Fat-Fuck get a room?

Is that the best you have? Please please tell me that is not the best you have. You might as well admit right now that you have no comprehension of economic principles with a dipshit comment like that.

You think its unlikely to happen, so what you then want is what has proven not to work? Huh?

I'll never understand you anti-corporate crusaders..... You believe government is corrupt, you believe corporations are corrupt....so you want 1 corrupt entity to regulate and control the other... it makes no sense. Furthermore, when compared to the power and influence of government, corporate power is insignificant.

I hate that incredibly rare occasion when you actually say something I agree with, but you're right on the money with this one, sport...:yes::yes:

Post depression America to 1980 laid much of the groundwork for the crash and the financial trainwreck we are currently on.

Japan and Germany have surpassed us?? Who knew? When did that happen? :)secret: They never did)

Canada has 10% of our population, and their economy is miniscule compared to ours. Try again.

Who has advocated complete laissez-faire capitalism ??? Please show where I did. Clearly however, the federal government is MUCH to large, intrusive, uncontrollable, and unmanageable...among other things.

How about we just go back to the constitution, remove the socialism that has infected the system these past 100 years...and start again there.

What a joke - there is no investment - just adding more debt to the credit card.

Where is King of all Blacks??? Does he ever discuss politics. I just love him on the show.

Sure...thats what 'every economist' will say..... Was that before or after Japan's debt equaled and surpassed its GDP ?

Globalization is a WONDERFUL THING.... regardless of what isolationists like you think. We only have to go back to the 30's to see the real result of the policies you support.

The Constitution didn't come about until 1787, btw. And it seemed to be working fine until early in the past Century....until the socialists started to gain power and influence. Its an amazing document...its no surprise that the state of our nation declines the more and more we move away from it.

NCMike, wow. You waste a lot of time on here. You know so little, what is your interest in P&N? Definition useful idiot.
To the grownups here, we need to shut down the one-sided global corporatist gangbang before we dump anymore Keynesian money. Doesnt make much sense if it does a lap around our "economy" and disappears. We need to tariff it up. We do that, then we can talk left v. right nonsense.
Leponjames, good to see some non-troll behavior on here. Good on ya.

And of course we will have no retaliation from any countries for imposing tarriffs. Economics is not your strong suit.

He needs to look up the Smoot Hawley Tariff and how it helped turn a downturn into the Great Depression...
  21. Bababaloney Full Member

Admit that the ONLY reason you know anything about the Smoot Hawley Tarrif is you watched Ferris Bueller 20 times. :eek:pps:

Well, at least you're parroting from a damn funny movie...:bigclap:
