I got it 3 weeks ago for my birthday.

It's amazing. Satellite radio is amazing.

    Any questions?

I am leaning towards this model now too thanks to you providing some additional info on it. Let me ask you, does its main screen look similar to the audiovox unit, i mean like w the antenna stregnth, time etc on it?? Can you post some other pics other than the 6 line display of music categories??

    Thanks :D

Yeah, it's pretty similar, but it's easier to move around. It shows the score of games and obviously shows the title/artist of songs, as well as the name of the show, between songs.

Do you use it with the battery pack?

I want Sirus really bad but the new walkman for XM is exactly what I need. I will probably wait it out to see if anything like that is on the way. However the XACT looks like a worthy alternative. I hope they come out with something like that at least before Howard moves.

I bought one on Ebay for 15 bucks and asked him if he had more. He does, ifyou are interested.

I liked the Xact because of its built in transmitter

does anyone know if the sportster has this walkman option. this appears to be the only major difference between these two. i like the nfl features on the sportster, but the walkman feature on the xact.

also, any word on if this deal is still available. the 263 code doesn't work anymore?

does it have an alarm so you can set it to wake up to the radio?

sportster is made for a docking app only...f for right now...

but, all of the current sirius units can BE CONVERTED to portable.

biggest stumbling block is the 12v power source...

my audiovox PnP gen 2 unit generates a LOT OF HEAT... so it's sucking power like a porn star on... well you get the idea...

hopefully smaller units will have smaller displays. this is what sucks the power.

    Re: portable questions

in a kludgy way, it can be a walkman type device.

the portable setup has an antenna that stick up:

one thing the XM MyFI has is that the antenna is about the size of a cigar and you "wear" it...

but it has the capability to record up to 5 hours of data!!!!!!

Quick question to the original poster...........

How do you cycle through your preset channels with this unit? I just see a big 1, 2, & 3 (and a couple more buttons). I'm thinking there should be more buttons for this thing to be easy to use.

Thanks in advance for your help!
  19. BelmontShore Full Member

Well, let's start from the beginning.

Presets are set up as A, B, C, D, E and F, there is a 1, 2 and 3 assigned to each letter. You use the "band" button, in the middle of the remote, to cycle thru the 1st preset for each letter and then you can choose 1, 2 or 3. On the unit itself, the "band" button is above the "1".

    It's really pretty easy.

On the remote, you can hit the P-Tune button to either choose preset tuning or ^ v to change channels.
