you keep going back to this. i get this. the fact is, if you make more than 250k you are taxed higher. do you think this a good plan in a recession? that's all i want to know.
  2. fastfingersfunk Full Member

explain why you think it's necessary and what obama will be doing to make sure that necessity happens.

raising everyones taxes i get, but raising a portion of societies taxes to balance out a tax cut for others makes no sense whatsoever to me.

You're right. You are wrong about EVERYTHING you've said in this thread:

You have no idea what you are talking about.
  4. fastfingersfunk Full Member

that's what i thought. keep trying though.

it's a hypothetical, in other words, we wouldn't be talking about these people "joe the plumber" or "joe sixpack" if obama wasn't planning on raising their taxes in a recession.

of course, you don't grasp anything past jpegs.

Only because you are completely ignorant of basic history and economics.

Face it, you are not smart, informed or educated.

Stop fooling yourself that you have a clue, and start listening to those smarter than you.

Gee HD, I had no idea I had that kind of impact on the country! And just think, I fucked it up for good, we'll never be a manufacturing power ever again.
  7. Fdubya247 Full Member

Yes, you have no clue, but ya keep on keepin' on!!!

    :db:
  8. fastfingersfunk Full Member

go ahead and explain why it makes sense. lmao.

notice how nobody will offer a suggestion as to why it makes sense to raise taxes in a recession?

    because it doesn't.

Not so fast, asshole. We just inserted the anal probe, we have data to gather.

It is a change of 3% on earnings over 250k. THREE PERCENT. $300.00 per $10,000.00. It is meaningless to an individual earning over 250K, which is why if you ask people making over 250k per year, they really do not have a problem with it. The only ones that do are, oddly enough, those that do not!

Yes, you and the millions of low-level RWAs and DUPED SUCKERS like you, have nurtured the cancer that has fucked our country.

    The tumor is your friend.

Bush cut taxes when he shouldn't. We have mounting bills to pay because of his war. The tax cuts must be eliminated to help pay for these.
Also, Obama has said he will go through the budget and eliminate programs that are not working. That will save us more.
Now, admittedly, he is planning some programs that will cost money. According to his figures, between getting rid of the Bush cuts, and eliminating some wastfullness, the money will be there to pay for the programs.
By leaving Iraq - or at least getting Iraq to foot more of the bill - that will also save billions. Some of that will undoubtedly go to help fund the war in Afghanistan.
Remember how things were before Bush fucked everything up?
All Obama is doing is basically returning us to those times.
Frankly, it will take years for the economy to turn around. Obama's plans will begin the process. McCain's plans will just let things continue to get worse.
Also, Obama will give tax credits to businesses who keep their business in the US. McCain will continue to allow businesses to outsource.
That's how I see it anyway.

    Hmmmmm. Let me guess.

The emergence of skilled labor in other parts of the world available at cheaper costs, coupled with lower transporation costs, that made it more profitable to manufacture goods overseas?

    Could that possibly be it?

a few thousand a year though, does matter to people already paying 39%. my gf and i have a combined income over 250k and i can tell you that a few thousand dollars a year at this point in time will make a difference.

taking my few thousand and giving somebody else an even smaller % of a tax cut in a recession is not going to make things better.

The only way to turn the economy around is to start balancing the budget. I haven't heard Obama ever mention balancing the budget.

Getting rid of Tariffs was the knockout blow.

of course not, it's all hocus pocus. we'll take your money and give it to these people muhhahahaha. i have no problem releasing more of my funds to balance the budget if everyone else has to as well.

    1. Because it is the opposite of what Bush would do.

    2. Ever hear of the Great Depression and/or the New Deal?

    3. The Bush tax cuts (give away to the rich) put us trillions in debt. Ending them, and restoring a sensible balance, will staunch the gushing wound.

    4. Only the rich are getting taxes "raised" ( ). The middle class is getting help. Healthy/growing middle class = Healthy/growing economy.

Now explain to all of us how tax cuts for the rich during a "time of War", and EVERY other Bush policy, hasn't led us directly to the situation we are now in.

    :beyes:

so you don't care to explain why raising taxes in a recession makes sense? i didn't think so.

btw, my household income (me and my gf) is higher than 250k and i can assure you, we aren't rich.

You have no answers so shut the fuck up!
  22. ArivacaCharlie Full Member

    This line explains it simply:
From FDubya: 4. Only the rich are getting taxes "raised" ( ). The middle class is getting help. Healthy/growing middle class = Healthy/growing economy.
  23. fastfingersfunk Full Member

no, he had no answers. once he answers my question i'll entertain his.

do you care to explain why raising taxes in a recession makes sense?
