John Hein...

Did he screw Jason Kaplan with his new Fast Food show, or is Jason just being a whiner?

I am so glad somebody is talking about this, Jason really sounded pissed off,

there both a couple of Chodes. Jon Hein being the bigger of the two.

Chode is a highly underused and underrated term.

I don't listen to anything on 101 except Lisa Lampanelli and the old shows during the week. This crap programming has to be a joke on us. " it's over johnny, it's over". Get used to it folks. If the NFL goes I'm done. I listen to a lil Howard on Monday and Tuesday but even that is getting tough. Lisa Lampanelli should have her own show separate from the HS channels. She is a natural.

Jason sounded like a big fat baby. Suggesting that Jon Hein screwed his old roommate out of Jump The Shark was a cheap shot. Obviously the Discovery people have listened to the Fast Food Show and were impressed with Jon and not with Jason. Otherwise they would have pursued Jason rather than giving Jon the gig. The only point that Jason had is about Jon's insisting that everything be plain. How can he judge a product unless he tastes it as the producer intended? For example, a burger menu item is not just a patty and a bun. The toppings and condiments are part of the overall product, which is what they are selling.

Agree with you about most of the 101 programming, but I'm referring to a news item, not the 101 show. Apparently, the discovery network has signed John Hein to host a Fast food show. Shuli interviewed Kaplan about it. As UncleLeo said, he sounded pissed. He said he was ok with it, but when on to mention how JH didn't tell him about the open casting, and brought up the fact that Hein has a history of screwing his friends with Jump The Shark. He sounded bitter to me. I'm not sure it's johns responsibility to inform Kaplan about his career plans.

I don't think they called John up....it was open auditions....and Hein didn't tell Jason anything about it till after it all happened. Sleazyier move than the Doug Z/ Shuli think from awhile back. That said I like Hein as a host on the shows he's on....one w/ just him though?? Not so much. Guys all info zero persnality. The fact he only eats hamburgers w/ NOTHING on them and won't eat any Italian food should preclude him from any food show. Guy has amazing luck.

I can't think of another scenario in life where this is the guy everyone is trying to be friends with at work, they act like Jon Hein is the coolest guy to walk the planet in the back office of the Stern show

According to John they didn't call him. Benjy found the casting call on Craigslist and told John about it.

I understand why Jason would be upset about all this, but at the end of the day, he would have NEVER been chosen to be the host.

Jason doesn't even have a face for radio. I can't imagine any Producer in their right mind allowing that face on TV.

As Howard claimed- the show is filler and will fail.

It's funny that Jason thought he would have a shot at being on TV. He's a hideous beast and a camera is no friend to him.

Jon Hein is a total douche. He co-hosted the show with Jason. They work together everyday. He absolutely should have told him about the audition. I don't think he had anything to worry about if Jason auditioned. Jason was highly unlikely to get the part, but he absolutely should have told Jason about the audition. Jon obviously looks out for himself and no one else. If I was Jason I would never talk to Hein again.

Entertainment is a dog eat dog business. I damn sure wouldn't tell somebody else about a job we would compete for especially in this economy. I was told by a friend at a job fair about a company that had just hired him. It was a great job and I stayed for 28yrs. Can anybody guess where?

If someone wanted a job, why would he tell someone that could get it instead of him? That's just stupid.

Jason is absolutely great at creating on air content, many times, if not almost always, much to his chagrin. Love the guy for that.

That's his only redeeming quality.

That and he truly loves his wife.

This guy has diabetes, right? If it wasn't for the fact he got 80 blowjobs in college, I would have no respect for him...
