I'm sorry but I just can't sit here for 7 hours typing up these excruciatingly long specials. Why the tapes team insists on dragging these specials out so long just boggles my mind. Today's show is supposed to run from 6am to 1pm. Tomorrow's show from 6am-2pm. I'm fine with typing about the live Stern Shows from 6-11am but I'm not going to write up old shows for 7 straight hours. I'm done for the day. Once again I'm sorry but, as I've been saying for the past year, I just can't spend this much time on the site anymore.

I hope he is only done for vacation weeks, and still does live shows. I love his website and I have been going to it for years...does a good service, but even Mark has had enough of the BS.

the dudes whack OCD/mental condition wont seem to let him take a break from the BS replays and just concentrate on the live shows. He seems to think he needs to still sit and do it all and it angers him.

Howard, the show, everyone involved is scaling back and taking a break, time for Mark to let himself do the same.

Maybe he should stick to just the regular shows.He only has to work 2 or 3 days a week.There's no point he should be busting his ass for 5 day specials.

Mark's not the most articulate guy, but I think he's saying he's only quitting updates for specials, not the live shows.

who cares about the "specials" anyway?....mark should take a break when the show does....it's the live stuff that counts

I can't believe someone can sit through 7 hours of 25 year old material. That's dedication!!

So much dedication and no acknowledgment from the show.

Mark seems like a good guy, but like many does not know how to delegate.
Should've asked for help a long time ago. Not that I am offering.
What his site has to offer is helpful for listeners.

What Mark came right out and said was (and just to make it clear, I'm paraphrasing here), "look, I'm not going to write reviews of these seven hour long best-of specials. I'll keep doing the regular show, but I'm not doing the specials anymore."

That's what he meant when he said, "I'm fine with typing about the live Stern Shows from 6-11am but I'm not going to write up old shows for 7 straight hours..."

It actually seems pretty clear to me.

Mark, just do a short summary of the live shows. No need for a book. Just a short summary will do the trick. You do a great job.

i never read the recap of the best of specials anyway. just the live shows.

mark is the best. saves me so much time b/c after reading his recaps, i can decide which shows i want to bother listening to.
