The guy has been here since 2005 and has 10k posts. He's about as much a spammer as you are, Blarg.

Not sure what forum he posts in then because he only shows up here to post links to his own website but doesn't contribute jack to other threads around here.

But that said, maybe he actually contributes in another forum or something.

The biggest problem with Romney is that he isn't a politician at heart and he doesn't connect with people. No matter what you personally thought of them, the reason that portraits of leaders like JFK, Clinton, Obama and Reagan hang on the walls in people's homes to this day is because their messages resonated in the hearts of the people. Their values and beliefs were transparent and Americans firmly sensed their integrity. They weren't keeping everything hidden and they weren't perceived as merely government administrators or CEO's. They loved people and loved being around them. They had a passion and love for politics which Romney simply does not have.

That's pretty much how I feel, he comes off very ego centric and yes out of touch, I know to conservatards it's not a big deal because they'll just chant ABO like a bunch of retarded seals but that kinda stuff matters to me as a voter. That's what's sad about conservatives today, their blind prejudice is what leads them, how can anyone honestly think that a guy like Mitt Romney gives a fuck about the middle and working class. The office of the President seems like its been reduced to nothing, and it's all party first nonsense, if Mitt had an ounce of likability in him, I'd be a little more open to hearing him out but everything he says and all of his recent actions are MAJOR turn offs.

He's actually posted in P&N as well as the Ferrall and Stern forums for a long time. My point is that he doesn't just come here to link to his blog.

I don't know if Uncle Buck has one, but he's posted stuff that he's written on here as well as other forums. It's only wgas when the opinion is from the other side, no? :D

No, his opinion I disagree with but I find his rambling to be inane. I don't care really what's on his blog says though, it is more just coming to link only.

If you say he's a useful poster though, I'll drop it.

At least he did`nt go to Germany and do a Hitler had some good ideas speach.

My initial view was that he'd been here a long time and hadn't linked to the blog the entire time. But upon closer examination, I see that you are correct. More recently he's been starting threads with links to his blog and then abandoning them. It is spam since he's clearly not here for the dialogue and is only using the links from SFN to increase his blog's search engine rankings. On the other hand... if a thread stimulates a thoughtful discussion, wgas.

Throughout the lunacy of the primaries I had hope for Romney. I genuinely wanted to like him and for months cut him a wide berth. I've vacationed in New England for years and thought how bad could a self-proclaimed "progressive" Massachusetts moderate be? I guess we found out. :jj2:

Yes, JFK, Clinton, Obama and Reagan....yes, they loved people and we sense their integrity.

And you forgot Jimmy Carter. In fact, Jimmy and Obama are my favorites. They love people and people love their integrity. I do have their portraits hanging.....

I'm so glad to hear that Jimmy is one of your favorites. I'm sure you keep jars of peanuts and jellybeans on your desk, asswipe.

Jelly's right, he's a business man and may have the energy to be president which looks exhausting, but the he ain't got the soul like the ones she listed. He doesn't reach thru the tv and touch people, he just says what he needs to say to get him to the next stop.

That being said I'd still vote for him if he had a decent foreign policy, he does not.

God forbid another terrorist attack happens under President Romney, does anyone really think this guy is going to have the heart and compassion to get us through it? I just don't see it, he's an empty suit, a spineless capitalist, people like that have no time for people's feelings. Also he gets off on firing people, sorry to break it to conservatards but it takes more than a big bank account to be a likeable President. I want to like Romney, I really do but the more I see the less I'm thrilled about him. I thought Bush handled himself well after 9/11, his visit to Ground Zero was very inspiring for the country and for the people who worked day and night there but then he fucked it all up with the Iraq nonsense. If only we could capture that feeling of unity, and to have someone as President that can inspire us without totally fucking it up later on.
  17. mcopley Full Member

Bush did do a good job rallying America together after 9/11, I don't see a "compassion bone" in Romney, at least compared to what W showed post 9/11. But yeah Iraq felt right at first because they were Arabic people and we were all scared, but the smoke cleared pretty quick on that little "occupation".
    ManGRavy and sir1us like this.
  18. sir1us Full Member

That's why Bush became such a hated figure after the smoke cleared, using our emotions from 9/11 to go into a country that had nothing to do with it. I don't care who's in office, I don't want to be lied to, why is that such a difficult task for politicians?

I think we're on the same page. You summed it up quite nicely with this:
It is spam since he's clearly not here for the dialogue and is only using the links from SFN to increase his blog's search engine rankings.

Regarding your last thought about starting a discussion, anyone can post a thread with "Romney" in the title and expect 2 or more pages of discussion; his subjects are just retreads if you ask me.

I can't get inspired by someone that says one thing then does another but some people like to be bullshitted, that's what amazes me about Obama supporters..

maybe the obama & all of the united states should say: o.k, you've got the answers? you run the country - but if you fail, then you'll face life in a texas prison. now, good luck!

Mitt is Obama's most effective surrogate. 'Man you guys have a great healthcare system here! Universal and with a mandate to boot? Outstanding! And cheaper than our system!'
