Wow, and here I was thinking that what Tito did was pretty awesome.

Are you jealous of him and Jenna or something?

If you want to talk shit about someone, stick to Leon Kings bashing. Oh wait, I bet you like them though.

You actually laugh at a real fighter?

Since you know so much about the UFC, tell us who Ortiz is really gonna face next.

Ortiz vs Franklin I would say. It was rumored once before, but ended up being Liddell vs Franklin.

Spreaking of which... I have never seen Herb Dean give such a disgusted look to a winning fighter as he did when he held up Rich Franklin's arm in his victory over Liddell.

Also, the Hamill vs Gustafsson fight should have been stopped when Matt hit the canvas face first after taking an upper-cut. It was almost the same situation as the Hendo KO over Fedor, except the ref didn't seem to notice.

Hamill was out long before he started taking that beating.

    In an MMA thread? Really?

If I was the OP I would slap your bitch ass for posting that shit here.

For your information, I said 'jealous' of Tito.... not jealous of Jenna.

    Low reading comprehension much?

Seeing as you are scared of fighting Ortiz, maybe you could just put on a Hallman-bikini and 'present' yourself to him.

Strikeforce is looking into ways to broadcast their preliminary fights. I hope they work that out.

I'm hoping Gurgel pulls it out. He's an exciting fighter and I would hate for him to end up on the regional circuit.

Steve Mazzagatti is a piece of crap. How does he still have a job reffing fights with major promotions?

She verbally submitted. Those are the state comission rules.

It isn't a 'great' victory, but it was a real win.

Don't forget, these are girls and this is the reason you won't see Women's UFC.

The ref did the proper thing.

"When I originally went for the submission I felt the elbow go out, I really cranked on it and I turned to the referee and said, 'she said tap.' I don't think she could use her other arm. I was just trying to be respectful to her," Rousey told Showtime announcer Mauro Ranallo.

D'Alelio told her corner that she didn't tap. She repeated the same thing to Ranallo. She admitted she simply groaned in pain, but never tapped or verbally gave up.
Rousey may have talked the ref into the stoppage, but only because of what she heard from officials before the fight.

"When I first went for the submission, I cranked on it. I heard it pop. I let go," Rousey said. "She said something. In the locker room, they said anything verbal they'll count it as a verbal forfeit."

Even with the odd finish, Rousey moves to 3-0 and was impressive. She's making the transition to MMA from the world of Judo where she was a two-time Olympian. With the use her grappling, throws and a nasty transition into that armbar, Rousey, 24, stormed through five previous opponents in less than three minutes

I heard the audio, she never said tap. And her other arm was free.

The guy he fought was 0-1 coming into this and was KO'ed in his 1st fight.
It was a joke. I bet the next guy is a pussy too. They are just trying to get his record up and make money off his name again. When he get few easy wins on his record they will start advertising his name and have a pay-per-view event.

The "Fight of the night" bonus is 65k for tonight. Dana White up it from 35k and these two said they are gonna throw down and go for the big bucks. It should be a good one. :)

Live prelims on FB. Ed Herman had a nice sub win
  14. TheKnot Full Member

It's good to see dana toss some cabbage around , hardy will try to bang and get KO . I also would like to see amir win by sub , this is a solid card cerrone and henderson bring it . The cowboy will go hard for the 35 grand
  15. Fluffhead Full Member

I think all 3 of the main fights have a good shit at the bonus. I'm going with Henderson and miller though. Great free card
  16. Fluffhead Full Member

It is going to be tough to top Amir vs Ludwig for fight of the night
  17. Fluffhead Full Member

Still 1 round to go but so far miller is getting his ass kicked

Amir and Ludwig were got fucked out of the FoTN bonus. Help, I thought Henderson and Miller even deserved it more than Hardy and Lytle. I have no problem with the ufc saying Thank You to Lytle in his final fight. But damn, I feel Ludwig and Amir put on a much better show
  20. AlGreenDogg Full Member

If you aren't in the UFC, why does it even matter what they do???

Ludwig and Amir was not FOTN. Henderson and Miller likewise was not.

FOTN was obviously Lytle vs Hardy since there was no clear winner until the choke, yet both were landing shots.

It would have been hard judging that one and no one would have been happy with a decision.

The bonus was a no-brainer. It was about the finish combined with the 'stand-up' aspect of the entire fight.

Miller is gonna come back much stronger. It is better he get beat up by Henderson for 3 rounds, rather than get destroyed in a 5 round title match.
  21. TheKnot Full Member

Al dog said it all ,i agree 100% . I have to say all 4 fights where entertaining , and henderson game was pretty impressive. Miller tried to sub him but he got out of everything on the neck or foot, with ease . To me amir looked slow and just couldn't get it to the ground , maybe he should have pushed harder sooner. Ludwig earned the win . FOTN was lytle ,hardy all the way i love the stand up and it was a banger . Good man good fighter retires proper have fun chris thanks for the entertainment.
  22. Fluffhead Full Member

Here we go again. No fan can have an opinion.

All 3 of the fights in question had a clear winner. Just because one fighter is more dominant than the other, that does not make it a less entertaing fight.

Do you really believe that Hardy was in any way winning that fight? I'm sure they will replay it. Watch it again. Lytle was more active and landing more shots. He completly controlled the pace and style.

On second thought I would have given the bonus to Henderson/Miller. That is the fight I watched a second time and then deleted the event from my DVR.
  23. Shawn91111 Full Member

Yup, Lytle had round 1 pretty clearly. Round 2 was Hardy but could make a case for Lytle. So no one would have bitched if Lytle had won the decision had it gone to the judges.

The judging in MMA is pretty poor

Kongo has edge in KO of the Year award

Before I reply to you, let's just get this to page 51 so we don't be seeing Jenna no more.
You can have an opinion, but what about aligning oneself with the spirit of the UFC?

If there was a 'Performance of the Night' award, it would obviously go to Ben Henderson. However, FOTN is not about a 'dominant performance'.

Also, I never said that any of the fights in question were less entertaining just because they were one-sided... I simply stated that they are not FOTN material.

For either the Miller/Henderson or Soda/Ludwig to get FOTN, there would have to be a huge comeback by Miller or Soda, respectively.

As for DVR..... I had to immediately go and re-watch the Barry vs Kongo Fight Night to get my KO fix. Mittrione's leveling of Morecraft was nice, but Kongo could earn KO of the Year honors.

Other contenders for KO of the Year could be Silva over Belfort, Machida over Couture, or Henderson over Fedor. However, Couture is too much of a hero for that nasty front-kick by Machida to be shown over and over. Even during the live event they limited how many times it was replayed. It seems as though the UFC would like to bury it.

Anderson Silva's kick was perfect, but the opponent (Belfort) wasn't big enough of a name to warrant the prize of KO of the Year. The photo of that kick will be the single most memorable strike of 2011 though.

We didn't get to actually see the landing of the strike by Dan Henderson which took Fedor out, though we know it was an upper-cut, and the fact that it was a 'flash KO' lessens the lasting impact of it all.

With that said, Barry vs Kongo didn't have that one 'beautiful strike', but the end result and the circumstances leading up to it is what makes it KO of the Year.

As for Hardy... I am not a judge.... but I do know that there was no clear winner going into the 3rd round.... which is why Hardy got impulsive and went for the take-down. I also know that Hardy never even got wobbled.

I watched the Post Fight where they showed all the shots, and Lytle did land the harder ones, just as Faber did against Cruz.... but we know how that turned out.

P.S. Lytle sure got a pretty daughter.
