Muslims are on the warpath in France

It's weird the way Muslims always look like this, right? Calm the fuck down already.

It seems they are having some difficulty with muslims assimilating in Europe.


There are "no go" areas in France. Police and Firemen do not respond, as they will be fired upon. Imagine that...

Its because the native French think their culture is so fucking important and special and great that they don't want assimilation because they are scared of a melting pot effect in which their precious french culture might change or get influenced in the process.

Its why I am always confident that extreme sharia law will never take hold in the USA. We don't have an assimilation problem because american culture is a melting pot of numerous cultures from around the world. We usually take the good parts and skim the trash parts off the top. We don't need to keep everyone separate in order to make sure our american culture doesn't get influenced by a group of immigrants, our culture is constantly getting influenced by immigrants. We are a nation of immigrants.

And its not just France. Most European nations seem to believe their culture is a gift from god and they do their best to make sure assimilation doesn't happen and it has lead to problems in many European nations.

Assimilation is still a 2 way street. Many Muslim countries fight it with death.

Your post doesn't make sense to me. I was talking about immigrant populations in western nations. How are muslim countries fighting (with death) the assimilation of immigrants in France?

The immigrants in France aren't assimilating because France doesn't want them to. They are trying to keep immigrants separate from native french in many ways. The immigrants then in turn keep to themselves and keep their past way of life. How are they suppose to adopt a new way a life in their new home when their new home doesn't want them mix in out of fear of their French culture getting effected by the immigrant's influence? It is a two way street in that respect, I just don't know what that has to do with muslim countries. You can't expect someone to completely drop everything they are and in a blink of an eye turn into a "french person". American history has taught us that assimilation is a long process that can and does take more than one generation and is a two way street of the new home country being influenced in some way while the immigrants become "americanized".

That's the understatement of the year.

Hence, why many say Islam is not compatible with Western thinking. It will only get worse.

Except in the USA where we are not having the same large scale problems that Europe is having because we allow our immigrants to enrich our own culture as part of the assimilation process.

The fuck you talking about? When was the last time you in London? Take a stroll down Edgeware road. Italy is FULL of Somalians being fucking Somalians. My cousins in Ireland tell me there are TONS of West Africans now in Dublin.

Yeah, I'm sure your parents were 100% indistinguishable from native born americans after 6 weeks. Also, the process of 2 people independently assimilating vs large numbers of immigrants from the same place all coming at once is different.

No one is making excuses, just telling you want american history has to teach us. You can go to most coastal cities in the USA and find the "italian section", the "polish section", the "irish section", etc. Only now those areas aren't that segregated. But when large number of immigrants first came here, they grouped together and kept a hold of their home culture and only time helped fully assimilated them into the fold. But part of that assimilation process was allowing the culture of the immigrants to not be wiped away but mixed in, allowing some influence from them while the over all "american culture" had a greater influence on them and their children.

Your point? How does this contradict with what I posted? It takes time for full assimilation to happen, that's the fucking point. Especially when you are talking about large groups of immigrant populations.

Most NEVER assimilate. As a matter of fact, I grew up with 2 Pakistani families in my building, and we all our families were pretty close when we were growing up. Both the husband and uncle have actually REGRESSED and are now very ultra religious as opposed to when they first arrived. I was very surprised when they came to my mom's funeral. Wife, daughters and grand daughters still dress in traditional clothing and are still viewed as 2nd class citizens. Sad.

In stark contrast were the Indian families. The son and daughter are very AMERICAN. As a child, I was confused as two why one group (Indians) seemed very family oriented, very, very tough about their kids excelling in American school, and actually started a business, while the other (Pakistanis) never made it beyond being the "super" of the building, and his kids took it over from him when he got old.

Just one man's opinion, but 1st hand observations....

There is a major difference. Italians, Irish and Polish WANT to be AMERICAN. Even the Asians. I have 1st generation Polish, Irish, Chinese and Italians in my family (by blood and marriage), and they are ALL consider themselves AMERICAN.

The mindset is centuries behind the rest of the world, how can they assimilate? If they are being asked to abide by laws and by laws of a certain country If there are more liberal sects of the Muslim faith they are very silent.

Well, that one mulsim who attacked the dude in the parade who was making fun of islam, he thought that he had a right to attack the dude. He is an American, but had no concept of freedom of expression, and he believed he still had a legal right to attack aomeone making fun of islam. Canada just put away three freaks who murdered their own daughters and their step mom because the daughters were dating and wearing make up.

And there are people that think they can kill abortion doctors or kill people that don't believe in their christian god. What's your point? There are always going to be nut jobs among us. They are the exception, not the rule. Most people in the USA, immigrant, native born, christian, muslims, etc just want to be left alone to live their lives happily with their loved ones.

I've heard this offered as a reason many times and now believe it is valid. France has segregated its muslim immigrants and unemployment is very high. The riots in 05 were economic and social-driven, not religious in any way shape or form. I think the UK has more serious issues with their muslim population.

There is a lot to be said for that.

That being said, in our country, muslim assimilation may the toughest nut to crack but they will crack. American culture is too compelling to remain wallowing in 7th century ideals. Once their women see what our women can do, there is no stopping them.
