What the hell kind of thinking is it when you actually root for your own culture to succomb and fail to that of another culture.

What I think needs to happen is to stop the selling weapons to dictators. We need to stop giving them foreign aid, tie foriegn aid to democratic reform, and the ability for us to audit the books to ensure it is being spent wisely. I hate seeing my taxes go to building a dictator and his cronnies a palace or buying limo's and fancy cars. I think it goes exactly opposite to the values are society is built upon, to give someone the money and weapons (not to mention some form of political legitamcy) to oppress a people.

I think it is 10x's worse when we support them for our economic self intrest. Our buisnesses should not be able to trade with or invest them, nor should they be allowed to do buisness with countries that sell them weapons. People in western countries should not be losing there jobs to people who are nothing but slaves to their government.

Countries that clean up their act, respect human rights, promote tolerance should be invested in we should encourage trade with them, teach them the agricultural know how to feed their populations, help with schooling (which can be used to teach tolerance to the next generations) and give them help improving their infrustructure, give them a kick start to self reliance, not reliance on hand outs.

I agree with you, the terrorists would not care. They are insane, irrational, and have already made up their minds that they are going to fight to the death.

However, the vast majority of Moslems are not insane and do care about their own survival. This includes the leaders of the Arab nations. They want to maintain their sovereignty and their oil wealth. If they knew that they faced serious retribution each time a terrorist attack took place, they would certainly eliminate the terrorists within.

Living in separate parts of the world makes people enemies now? They are human beings too and sometimes caring about humanity in general is more important.

You cannot beat a concept such as terrorism. You cannot win a war against an idea, and that's exactly what Bush is trying to do.

The reason why we are not winning and Bush is pandering is because of the flawed system of democracy, where power is given to the feeble minded.

I believe that if the war on terrorism was won, that human civilization could move forward into a new and better era. This would include the Arab world. Humanity will be better off without terrorism, would you not agree?
