Negotiating Your Subscription

Has anyone here ever tried to call Sirius and threathen to cancel your subscription in hope that they will offer you a discounted rate?

I changed my CC and let my sub expire. I get desperate Emails from them But I find alot free podcast and things online. I like Howard but he is on vacation alot and they when they merged I lost the free online stream and then they bump the price up more with that music fee. I did not buy it for music and I think I will wait to see if I go back after the new years

I just did and got the $77.00 deal, there is no way I was paying the normal rate plus music royalties. It took me about 5 mins and that was it.

not sure what i did wrong but they did not offer me shit....

after 3 years they are willing to let me go....

i will still listen to howard w/out paying.........

i called last week to cancel on of my two and they gave me both, with internet, until april for $28.

I called on today (New Year's Eve 2009), with my two 2-year subs up for automatic renewal on 1/1/10. I called Sirius to tell them I wanted to cancel because I didn't want to take it up the ass because Howard was sucking out every loose penny out of Sirius while its quality plummets. A woman who sounded like Marge Schott got on the phone and we played hardball. In the end, I got my 2 subs, plus premium internet access, for $165 for a year. So I will stay a listener and hear on monday how Artie finally got his fat ass fired.

I got the same offer yesterday and made them throw in the premium streaming.....
Fucking ass holes.

Woot...I gave them grief about a few things...said cancel me...and got the same deal

cried on the phone..... told them my sad story....she went to talk to the manager....


came back and said they were giving me a year's service free of charge!!!!

Ten reasons not to renew

I called and cancelled 2 units yesterday after 4 years and they didn't offer me shit so I still hate them. The other channels all suck ass too.

Got it finally taken care of today.

Threatened to cancel (i have two radios), and they offered me 90 dollars for the entire year for both. Before I was paying 80 bucks quarterly. I didn't realize how much i was over paying for this shit (I only listen to Howard and ESPN radio).

I recommend anyone who hasn't already done this to do so.

I called yesterday to cancel two of my 5 radios. They cut me a good deal, I think.
1st radio is $76.29 a year. Radios 2 - 4 are $53.50 a year. Radio 5 is $51.17 a year. $287.96 for all 5 for a year. That's $4.79 per radio per month, not bad. Last year they charged me $335.52 for the year.

I've been with Sirius since the beginning. I was in the first 50,000 subscribers. I have a lifetime membership and premium internet. When I bought my new car it came with 3 free months of XM. It expired and I just went to cancel and then activate my Sirius Connect unit. They didn't offer me a damn thing and went as far as to tell me no they wouldn't offer me any promos. Very frustrating to say the least!

It's amazing to read some of the responses people have gotten when they go to cancel their subscriptions. I can hardly believe they say one thing to some people and something completely different to others.

But then again......

What if they charged your yearly subscription recently without your authorizations. That's what they did to me last week. $162 on my credit card for the year. Can I still cancel or am I screwed once they charge my CC?

call your CC co and tell them it was not authorized and they will get charged back for the subs

I renewed my two subscriptions on 12/29 and was promised freed internet radio for the duration of my subscription. That got cut off yesterday. I called at 8AM this morning and got India. She tried to convince me that the additional $2/month for internet radio was my only option. I told her that when I renewed I had negotiated free for the remainder. She eventually put me on hold and I was transfered to Mike in Nova Scotia. He gave me back my internet radio and we talked hockey. After 42 minutes I can say that I like Canadians more than Indians. Ha, ha, ha!

I called yesterday and canceled one of my two subscrptions and negotiated my second. My exact words were as follows: " It's way to expensive and the money is not worth the service you guys provide, please cancel my stiletto subscription. I'm on the fence about the other one, if you can offer me a price that is discounted or below your normal price, I'll consider keeping it". He said, no problem Sir, I'll cancel your stilleto and be back in a few mintues with a price quote for you. They gave me 14 months for $100.00 and premium internet listening (which I asked for, and he added on after I told him it's not even worth a hundred bucks). He told me my renew was back in November, so he had to charge me for the past two months. But he did give me two months free at the end of this year. I'm good through Howards contract. Hope this helps!

Yeah, I talked to Mike as well. It's nice to talk to an outsourced person that speaks english as a first language!

My radio sub is up

I had two subs and the first one expired I dont drive far to work anymore. I got an email saying my payment was not excepted. I got a new Credit card and never updated it with Sirius. I called the customer service number and told them I was not going to continue anymore. The woman said I who have to talk to cancellation dept and she did not know how long it would take. I said I have no time to wait an just let it expire. She said they would send me to collections and it was part of there policy. I said bye and filled a complaint with the FTC about that.

i would love to get one of those deals. i just might give them a call.

howard is being a real bitch today, no one forced serious xm ,to give oprah that money,i have xm ,since this mel doush bag carmasan merger xm have become worse,,wish you could edit out robins stupid laughing,we would have a two hour compact show,she is annoying ,and rarely has anything interesting to say,cough up some money ,and get a comedian in there howard, you cheep skate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
