I called to cancel and they offered the 77dollar deal for a year. When they asked why I wanted to cancel just said no more Bubba and I'm laid off and trimming down on my bills. They offered the deal immediately. Earlier in the day they had called me to turn back on a sub I let expire in a car. Offered the 77 dollar and I said it was a second subscription.. After talking to his supervisor he offered 30percent off that which equaled to about 50 for a year on the second sub.. Told them to call back next week then called to cancel the first and the above happened

    Got the Normal deal

They were charging me $320 a year for two XM radios, one of them had the "best" of Sirius, I called and asked to cancel. They gave me the $77 deal for a year on both radios, however on the second radio I got six months for free too. Worked out pretty good overall.

Getting this deal canceled my Best of Sirius package, but lately I found myself listening to less and less of Howard.

The other fine print is that there is a $75 early cancel fee. Canceled yesterday because my SL100 finally had it, and I don't want to keep dumping money into hardware. The woman on the other end goes "oh there's a cancel fee, but I think I can wavie it for you." I wasn't told of this, the 5 month deal is really a one year deal, and don't trust anything those scam artist tell you.

What's the best deal now? I had the $20 for 6 months thing, but now I got an invoice. (I had canceled the auto-renew)

I have three radios and one radio went out. Called to cancel and I was offered 77 dollar deal on all which I did for two. They offered to replace my existing radio with a stratus 6 for $10 shipped plus free install card but I said no. I found a replacement for my old Audiovox pnp3 on ebay and bought that instead. She gave a free month on that and said I could get the 77 deal when I call in to transfer. Also gave me one year internet at $15 for one of my subscriptions. Overall pretty pleased.

The one thing she did say is all you have to do is ask and they will try to give you what ever deal you want as best they can. She said the 77 deal is referred to as the "1/2 off subscription deal" and said she didn't expect it to expire anytime soon.

The radio in my Maybach went South and Mercedes replaced it. When I picked up the car Sirius did not work. I called the number on the dash and gave them the ESN. They said they would need to get a credit card number and charge me to activate it. I explained it was a "lifetime" subscription, and the dealer changed the radio for a fault not related to the Sirius portion of the radio. They told me the "lifetime" subscription was for the radio in the vehicle, and could not be transferred like a "lifetime" subscription purchased by a consumer.

Sirius was a $ 1,200 option on the vehicle, but it all stops if the radio needs service.

I am done with this company. I've never had a sucessful transaction with them, and have been subjected to the worst possible customer service people. I'd rather pay a traffic ticket than deal with this load of goofs.

    That's some messed-up stuff Moviela....
With me, I bought a Sirius dock from Best Buy, the handle broke off within the 1st month.
Best Buy said I had to ship it back to Sirius for a replacement.....
needless to say, I didn't (too much of a hassel , plus the shipping) So now I carry it around
    like a baby. :D

    Who's In Charge Here ??

My sub expired and I'm dreading the call to Sirius to re-negotiate.
    Anyone had any recent experience?
  9. OH-MAN Full Member

Why do they treat the customers like crap?
I find if you treat people with respect they will do the same.
I have to think they know when Howard does retire they will have the 200K subscribers again and have to fold the tent so screw everyone and take all they can.

Damn I might have to try this...

Is there any deals for Sirius if you want to keep your car's trail sub?
  12. Goober319 Full Member

I expire next week... so I called to cancel and they gave me the 77 dollar deal, no haggling or anything, she also (to her credit) reminded me this is ONLY good for this year, and to call back and cancel before next May 9th to see what they can do for me... LMAO

If they are free to "remind" us to do this, why the hell can't they just discount everyone ?

Anyone who's been able to negotiate a deal has been lucky. I called to cancel last week and got the don't-let-the-door-hit-you-in-the-ass treatment. They canceled me with no argument at all, it took about 1 minute, and they even told me that my info has now been wiped from their computers.

Canceling an account has never been so easy. Thanks, Sirius.
  14. Oskeewow Full Member

If they gave everyone the $77 deal they probably wouldn't be in business. As with most anything in negotiations, you won't get anything "free" if you don't ask.

I just called them yesterday as my 5 month deal expired. They offered me the 5 month deal again or the year for $77. I took the year so I don't have to bother with them again in 5 months.

I just asked if I could get that deal again. They asked if I would drop if I didn't. I told them I would drop, and they just said sure, we can do that.

    Never hurts to ask...

Anyone having problems with service today? Mine has been acquiring signal since 6 AM in Brooklyn, NY.

I called up and asked them what kind of deal I could get for renewing my receiver for the year and the woman said some noise about $142 (which is suuuuch a deal because regular price is 155 a year or something like that). I told her I needed to cancel. She transferred me to some Indian guy with pretty damn good English and I told him I wanted to cancel. He asked why and I told him the price of $142 a year was too much considering that if I pay for a year, I'm absolutely no problem with monthly collection, etc, etc. For a year upfront, I need better enticement.

The guy started tapping on his keyboard (I'm sure for dramatic effect) and asked me what I thought of half off the regular price which is the $77 a year deal. I asked if that included all the bullshit extras and he reported it does not. "How much in total?", I asked. $85.03 or something like that for the entire year.

    Winning.

I have a Sirius receiver and subscription. Been a loyal listener for years. The radio in my wife's car just died so I paid and had installed a new radio with an XM receiver. Called to activate the new receiver as I thought would get a discount on the 2nd subscription. Was told no discount because I had 1 Sirius and 1 XM receiver. Absolutely ridiculous. I cancelled my Sirius account. Did not activate the new receiver. Took about 2 minutes to cancel my Sirius subscription with no offers to stay. Had I known this BS would not have bought the stereo with the satellite receiver.

Do they still have the 5 month for 20.00 deal going on?

I canceled yesterday and they offered me a $29.88 deal for six months.
  22. Donkeyboy2190 Full Member

I don't know what the hell happened but I had an update on my receiver today and all of a sudden I started getting Sirius again. Some of the channels don't work like 100 and 101 but 75% of them do.

Sirius is wacked in the head. They just sent me an e-mail offering 5 months for $24.99 + $7 in fees ($31.99) when I already turned down their offer for $29.88 which included all fees for 6 months.

Activate a prepaid 5-month subscription on a Sirius or XM Select subscription package, pay only $24.99 for your first 5 months, and save 61% off the standard subscription price ($4.99/mo versus $12.95/mo). Offer good on any inactive radio on your account and comes with free activation (a $15 value).

You don't believe that Sirius is desperate to keep active subs and offers 50% discounts to keep your sub or reactivate a canceled sub?
