Anyone able to negotiate the internet subscription into their deal? I have a Sirius radio in my car but I use it on my iPhone and computer all the time.

My second radio subscription is up 11/16 and I called to see if I could get the same $77 deal I got for it last year. The first CS person said sure and in the process of transfering me dropped my call. The next CS person not so nice and they said the best they could do was the "discount" of $98.89 and $10.68 for MRF. I said that's no discount that's my current price your going to charge me anyway. He said "that's what I can do". So I said I'll go ahead and cancel both my subscriptions, so he transfered me. This person got it, she said right off I see you got the $77 deal last time I can do that for you if you want to stay. Not only that, she said to bad you did not call when your primary renewed I see you paid full price. I said are you telling me you could give me a discount on that raido too? She said I'm not saying that I can only offer deals if you cancel an account. I reminded her I said I was canceling both accounts today and she said in that case I can give you the $77 deal for your primary as well. She gave me a $22 refund to my credit card for that account. All told the second radio cost me $55. Plus she said I'm putting in notes on your account so when you call next Nov just ask for the $77 deal on both your radios that that gal gave you last year.

A long process to get the deals, but two radios for the price of one is not too shabby. Good luck everyone.

Called and cancelled today. They offered $77.00 then came back and said with the licensing fees and internet the total for 1 year would be $145.00!! WTF?? Told them to forget it and to turn it off.
There is no way in hell I am paying that amount of money for this crap.
I'll take the $77.00 but how in the world can they justify double the cost in internet and licensing fees? Bullshit.

I just renewed my subscription for $114.50 for the year. I have XM with the best of Sirius (premiere plan). It works out to less than $10 bucks a year, so no complaints here.

I asked about the $77 plan and he claimed it was only for the standard plan. It's still available. It was a painless call, taking less than 5 minutes.

    Sirius subscription.

This is probably the 3rd straight year that I have done this. It took me less than 5 minutes, just called and tell them I was going to cancel, because I cannot afford it anymore. They checked my "records" and since I called before my sub was up they gave me the same deal as before. I paid $80 plus for a full year.
    Good luck.

Never pay full price. Make sure your sub comes with streaming.

Sirius/ XM has the absolute worse customer service. They speak poor english and are one-track minded to say whatever you want them to say as long as you are paying them something. I am a long time subscriber, had Sirius in my Ford and now XM in my Honda. They refused to credit nearly $75 when I bought the Honda. I wanted to prepay for a subscription up until Howards contract ends, guess that is about three years from this writing. Talking to XM on the phone was like chasing my tail. I finally found what I needed on the website and did it without talking to anyone. I chose to pay by the month. This way it is automatically sucked out of my bank account each month with something I can afford and not a huge amount every three/ six or 12 months when I forget. Or if I really want I can cancel anytime and am only out a months expense.

If not for the excellent show I get from Howard it would not be worth it. I don't care how often he goes on vacation or when the show is live or taped. There is enough other stuff on 100 and 101 to keep me happy. I pay for the internet service and listen to music at work and at home.

yeah and they gave me 5 months for $25. Then they charged me like $20 a month after. I asked for 40% off since stern is on radio 40% less than when I first subscribed. i cancelled cuz show quality deteriorated and my sirius radio broke but i still listen. good luck

I switched from Sirius to XM because the wife's car had XM. They called me over and over for about a year trying to get me back to Sirius. I kept telling them I was still with SiriusXM and to take me off of whatever list I was on but that didn't work at all they kept at it. Even though the calls stopped I still get spam from Sirius trying to get me back, here is the last offer from 1/20/12 (mind you I changed in Feb. of 2010)
" Activate a prepaid semi-annual (6-month) Select subscription package, pay only $24.99 for your first 6 months, and save 71% off the standard subscription price ($4.17/mo versus $14.49/mo). Offer good on any inactive radio on your account and comes with free activation (a $15 value)."

tried to cancel, but they offered me the $80 for the radio intead of $156, $40 for the internet - total $130 for the year . I took it , but feel I could have gotten more.

I let my sub lapse in december after 5 years. I called when they finally turned it off last month. No special deals and when I didnt resub the chick just said "awwwww".
I got the call today, finally. $24 for 6 months and another year for $94. I only took the 6 months but I can add the year anytime

Theyre clearly aware that everyones using scare tactics for a bargain and wait a month before making the call

I must admit they are becoming more strict on these negotiations. My year was almost up so I called and told them I can't afford the service anymore, and they offered me the year for $88 (which doesn't include internet streaming), which is now like $100ish + tax because of the rate increase. I didn't even write it down because it wasn't going to be an option. I told them it was still too expensive, and I finally got an offer for $25 for 5 months. They absolutely would not budge on the internet radio though. I told them my office does not have a window and cannot use my regular radio as I have in the past, but they said they can not give it to me for free because I've already had that promotion. They wanted $3.50 per month for it. I won't pay it.

I then got on the online chat and told the rep that the guy over the phone said he was going to add it but it must have slipped by, and asked if the online rep could add it for me. He said there was a note in there that they told me they couldn't add it. That's new, so they are keeping track now. The online rep would not add it either, and the best he would offer me is a free 7 day trial (which isn't that what anyone can get on the website?). I told him that would not do and he gave me the number to a "special" department that deals with "internet radio deals". I'm not even going to bother because I'm sure their "special" department dealing with internet radio deals are going to be the same non-offer for a free 7 day trial.

The only reason I've continued my subscription is because I get it so heavily discounted. I could not imagine paying the full advertised prices for satellite/internet service. If I call back in 5 months and they will not offer me another promotion, I think that's going to be the end for me. 3 days of Howard, plus all the vacation weeks, it just doesn't seem worth it anymore. I still love Howard and want to support him as a listener, but I don't feel I'm getting the same value I was when I first subscribed. For now, I think I'm just going to turn Google Music into my own on-demand Howard internet radio service, though it'll have to have a 24 hour delay...

I got the $88 offer two weeks ago, and no discount on the internet radio either (I haven't ever done that promotion). I actually had no intention of canceling, but they didn't know that. NO WAY I'm ever going to pay the full price for the service/subscription. It's worth it to me to go through the hassle every few months to get a little discount.

I invest approximately 3 hours per year into my SiriusXM "subscription". Every Monday I spend 5 minutes creating a new bullshit hotmail/gmail account and then I sign up for their 7 day free Internet trial. I listen at home on my computer and in my car, I plug in my smart phone. Anyone who actually pays for 12 days a month of Howard is a sucker. I wouldn't spend $20 a year on this crap. Invest 20 minutes a month and get all that I need. And if I know Howard is ginna be on one of his 20 weeks per year of vacation, I don't waste my time. Fuck Sirius
