In Other Words, There Was Not Enough Regulation To Counter The Greed In The System...

Do you have the right to anyone else's labor - or just doctors? Food is more essential than healthcare - do you have a right to a farmers labor and the resulting food he produces?
  3. ArivacaCharlie Full Member

You're right about one thing. It wouldn't be good if it was true.
But it's not true. The healthcare bill would, by all independent investigations, REDUCE the deficit.
  4. NC-Stern-Mark Full Member

Yes Uncle Buck, if my income fell into the guidelines established by the USDA, I would be entitled to the products of a farmers labor.

See Uncle Buck, no free market and we already are a socialist/capitalist hybrid nation.
  5. UNCLE BUCK Full Member

Anyone else? You have a right to the labor of both doctors and farmers thus far - shelter is also more imperative to survival than healthcare - do you have the right to the labor of architects and home builders also?
  6. NC-Stern-Mark Full Member

That would also be determined by my income and the particular state I reside in. I could be given charitable shelter or the state may provide shelter for me, especially if I am a woman with children.

Is all this really a shock to you uncle buck. Have you been completely programmed by the talking radio?
  7. UNCLE BUCK Full Member

    Not a shock at all.

So - in your view - you have the right to the labor of doctors, farmers, architects and construction workers. Do you have the right to a car, gasoline and the labor of the individuals that produced them? Free food and healthcare isn't of much use if you have no means to get to the doctors office or grocery store.

Sorry uncle buck, that's not what I said. Why would you deliberately misconstrue a post? Because it conflicts with the mantra in your head and it makes you angry to consider you've have been wrong all this time or am I another one of those commie-bastards that deserve no respect, so you think you can put words in my mouth with no consequence or conscious.

That's an interesting observation for me because you lying and assigning me an argument I didn't present dehumanizes me. You putting words in my mouth confirms my suspicion that most people with your viewpoint are some type of sociopath, who have little regard for their fellow citizens.

For the record uncle buck, I remarked that my income level and the state in which I reside would determine which social-benefits would be available to me. I also stated that charitable benefits may be available.

As far as transportation goes. I believe that also depends on your income and the state in which you reside. You may qualify to receive a free or reduced fare public transportation card.

If all these wonderful benefits seem attractive uncle buck, why not go down to your local human services office and apply?

No, not by all independent investigations, not even by some, but by zero.

The CBO is the only source that came to that conclusion, scoring the bill they way they had to, which was based on conditions at the time, neglecting things like the doc fix, neglecting the double counted Medicare savings as if we were going to bankrupt Medicare to give the money to Obamacare (I'd like to see someone make a serious claim that this is going to happen).

BTW, here's another little tip, when the CLASS portion of Obamacare was repealed (because again, it wasn't actuarily sound, even though the CBO said it would make money according to the numbers they were given), that savings also evaporated.

Also, the high-risk pools that were created (critics at the time said flat out that the $5 billion budgeted was ludicrously underfunded)... the federal gov't created 23 for the states that didn't create them, but states created 27 on their own... claims have come in 250% higher than was budgeted for... shocking.

Oh, and here's another gem... to save money on Medicare, Obamacare was supposed to freeze payments for Medicare Advantage to 2010 levels... and gradually reduce them until 2017 when cuts were to be final...... Rather than face the higher premiums, fewer choices, and shrunken benefits, guess when these cuts were delayed until... wait for it.... 2014!!!
Now where do you think the money that those cuts were supposed to save is at?

So now you are backtracking. You did state explicitly that under certain circumstances you - in the royal sense - have the right to the labor of scads of others. Allow me to back track - regarding the right to food (the labor of farmers) - does "one" (no dehumanization) have the right to the labor of lobstermen and cattlemen that raise lobster and fine beef? If not, why not?
  11. NC-Stern-Mark Full Member

And yet again, you further attempt to dehumanize me with your "royal" comment...

Here is the simple answer uncle buck. If your income qualifies you for food assistance, AKA food stamps or WIC, there are certain restriction on what products you could buy but they do allow for seafood and steaks.

Sorry I hurt your feelings. Honestly, by switching from "you" to you in the "royal" sense, I was attempting to remove "you" personally from your obvious sense of entitlement to the labor of others and therefor lessen your feelings of dehumanization. My bad - but what should you expect from a "lying" "ignorant" "mother-fucker"?

So, an unnamed third person, has the right to the labor of both lobstermen and cattlemen. Gotcha. Why then should one without transportation have to settle for a bus pass? If anything seems dehumanizing in our discussion, it would be your flip answer about the right (of an unnamed third person) to transportation. Do you frequently take the bus? If not why should the poor? In your utopia would they visit substandard "bus-like" doctors as well? Or is this where you draw the line? Unnamed third people have the right to eat lobster and filet at the fucking Mayo Clinic but they have to "Go - Greyhound" to get there. Is this your position?
  13. NC-Stern-Mark Full Member

No you're not. Not at all...

Your entire premise is flawed, the fictional third person you later present is not entitled to anyone's labor. What that person is entitles to is the government benefits that are lawfully granted to him/her by measure of income and of course, which state they reside.

Think about something uncle buck, you are bitching and moaning in this thread about medicare, food-stamps, bus-passes and housing assistance for the most needy of our fellow citizens. As the richest nation in the world, we are able to easily afford to care for the needy, indeed in is our obligation to do so and you would not want to live in a world where the needy are shunned and neglected. There are many examples of that around the globe, its called the third world and I do not wish my nation to engage in such barbaric governance, for if it did here, it would signal the end of times.

And if I may I will expound on why your premise is flawed. The Third-Person you introduce, that person who by virtue of income and assets is qualified for government assistance is now able to make life sustaining purchases and transactions with land-lords, cattlemen, lobstermen, transportation companies, grocery stores and doctors with government granted funds, so they are not entitles to their labor, they PAY for it with assistance the government lawfully grants them. As such, the evil you have been taught of someone taking from another, or someone entitled to anothers labor is absolutely false.

Just like all right-wing tripe, it is pure fantasy to fuel the gullible sociopathic among us and there appears to be many pf you.

I called you a loon in this thread but that was all and that was deserved.

Again uncle buck, that is only true in your own private world of hate.

Because that is what the government has deemed an appropriate benefit. If one does wish to ride on public transportation, one can attempt to make alternative arrangements, like a charitable accommodation or walking.

Not so much a right uncle buck as a means to get to job interviews or an actual job, so the aforementioned third person can hget off government benefits and enjoy the more bountiful benefits of private employment. It is a progressive and thoughtful accommodation to those in need.

Thankfully I do need require a bus to transport myself, however, if I were ever in a situation wit no transportation of my own at my disposal and no assets or income to provide it, I would welcome a bus pass and be very grateful for having received it.

I live in reality uncle buck, you are the one living in an imagined draconian-world full of despair and abject poverty. The vast majority of doctors that accept medicaid are competent. I would be very happy to see any competent doctor if I were ill.

As mentioned before uncle buck, you are in your own little, hate-fueled world. Sorry to be you.

You are the fucking poster child for Slave mentality and abandon of reason.
Truth does not matter. You are unable to assess it.
You post a lie like this propaganda article and automatically deem it credible and factual.
It satisfies your feelings while completely disregarding what your inner self tries to tell you.

Really you stoopid cocksucker? Explain why I voted for George W Bush twice...

And that is a real question, don't just skip over it, answer it bitch.

What "truth"? Be specific in regards to what particular right-wing fantasy you heard on the radio.

Its not propaganda. What has been fed into your rotted and soft cabeza is propaganda because I myself heard Rush Limbaugh blame the CRA for the housing crisis and if that fat, drug-addicted, boy-fucking, lying, cock-sucker said it, dupes like you believe it must be true! :jj2:

Listen dupe, I was once like you and posted the same thing about the CRA causing the crisis because I heard it on the radio. I think it was dogcow who politely told me I was mistaken and fortunately I was smart enough to listen to what he had to to say because number one, he's a smart guy and number two, he's not a rabid partisan asshole and thusly a good source of information.

Many things like that have happened over the years and I've learned that Rush Limbaugh is fat lying bastard and the CRA had nothing to do with what happened. The fact you still believe it does labels you a dupe, that is the sad truth.

Read and learn, turn the fucking radio off and LISTEN to some of the opinions offered here. There are some smart people here who are not trying to bullshit or hoodwink you like the man on the radio does.

You are soft in the head. My inner voice says you a complete dupe, who has fallen for right-wing talking points hook, line and sinker. Please prove me wrong and start thinking for yourself.

Believe this, Limbaugh outright lies and distorts facts on his show every-fucking-day.

Yeah I know, next you'll tell me you don't listen to Rush either. :jj2:
