I wouldn't be suprised to see Giles our opening day starter at second. He could be a nice right handed bat off the bench too.
  2. A.Lang=Crazy Full Member

I don't even think he makes the roster. I would start Brunlett over him. They need a power righty off the bench as they have Dobbs, Stairs, and Jenkins, but they are all left handed.

According to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, the Phillies have released right-hander Adam Eaton.

Eaion went 14-18 with a 6.10 ERA over 49 starts after inking a three-year, $24.5MM contract before the 2007 season. He would've struggled to crack the starting rotation this season, but the Phils are still on the hook for the more than $8.5MM remaining on his current deal.

Thank god. He was the worst signing in Phillies history.

Carrasco and Happ both two scoreless innings yesterday. I think Happ will eventually win the #5 spot in the rotation.

Ibanez another RBI today while Carpenter didn't even get 1 out today.

Shane Victorino will replace Grady Sizemore on Team USA's roster for the World Baseball Classic.

The Flyin' Hawaiian will likely serve as fourth outfielder behind Ryan Braun, Curtis Granderson and Brad Hawpe.

I think Kendrick will get the 5 spot. If he fixed what was messing with him at the end of the year. He still got us 11 wins.3 less than Hamels and only lost 1 more than Cole. He's proven he could play in the Majors. Happ and Park will wind up in the pen and Carrasco will get his chance if someone is to get hurt.

Unless Kendrick develops his changeup he will get rocked in the majors. He was lucky as shit earlier in his career giving up alot of hits, but getting double plays. Teams figured him out last year and I wouldn't count on him. Happ pitched the best last year and the most reliable option IMO which you need as a #5 starter.

Pablo Ozuna with a HR today. He has alot of speed and can play alot of positions. They could use a type of player like him on their roster. Romero 2 scoreless innings and Madson 1. They will really miss Romero the first 50 games.

I think it's between Kendrick and Happ unless Chan Ho is lights out. Carrasco as good as he looked is only 21. I see they're playing Donald at third. Any word on Feliz?

1st win of Spring training as they continue to own the Rays. Kendrick was ok going 2 1/3 innings giving up 4 hits and 1 run. Howard, Mayberry, and Cairo went deep in the first inning

I was watching that game sitting in Wildwood. There was nothing else to do since every fucking thing is closed this time of year.

Something about watching sunny Florida while sitting in freezing Wildwood :)

dude those look bad ass. opening day cant come fast enough.

on a side note im glad they're having a pat burrell day on one of the days of the on-deck series. he never realized his potential, but never said one bad word about the fans was a class act.

side note number 2... before he got married my friend's sister's friend says she banged pat and after he came he said "how did it feel to fuck pay burrell?"
  14. AssFaceKilla Full Member

wow cant wait to see that jersey...have to look to get one...the Burrell story I can believe he got around and I think he wouldn't change a thing...

Cole looked better then I thought yesterday and was very modest about the shape he was in and where he's at....I hope he starts opening night its his turn for that.....I and going to have to learn how to spell R. Ibaenz name because that Mfer can hit...He is looking very solid in early ab's with men on base....where this lineup can always use help at times......

Opening night tix is so pretty its a picture of the WS trophy...we are going to hope for good weather but we are going to tailgate all day..so glad they moved it to Sunday night.....

Just hoping everyone's stays healthy during WBC and we are ready to go in 31 Days!!!!

Looks like you miss Hamels pitching though.

    Couple things about spring training:

Chan Ho Park has been lights out so far and is in the lead for the #5 spot with Happ behind him. Carrasco needs more time in Triple AAA and Kendrick just isn't a major league starter.

John Mayberry has taken advantage of his opportunity and has hit well. IMO he deserves a spot on the team.

Howard leads the league with HR and looks in good shape.

Utley has started the last couple of games and looks on track for opening day.

It won't be the same, but Myers has done it before

As long as CHP can get people out - and keep the ball in our park - let him start

Kendrick and Happ - they head to the pen?
  18. A.Lange=Crazy Full Member

I wanted Park in the bullpen as he had success there last year and Durbin wore down late in the season. Though Park has been the best of the 4 guys and deserves the first shot at it. Happ tried the bullpen last year and sucked while I don't think Kendrick has any value as a reliever.

Looks like Gary Majewski will win the last bullpen spot. He was really good with Washington, but has been horrible the past two years.

We need to find that guy that busts Gary's balls on the Wrap up show every day.

Didn't pay him 30 mill to play defense.

Where are the gifs of Jeter missing every ball up the middle during the WBC?

    is zagorski healthy yet?

    I liked that kid

    Kendrick heading to the minors

5th spot is up to Park & Happ

    12 days to go
  24. A.Lange=Crazy Full Member

I heard he is healthy, but I'm not sure if he pitched this spring. They could use a lefty to replace Romero for awhile, but I remember him and he sucked down the stretch.

Kendrick needed to go to the minors and maybe now they should actually deal him to Japan because his career is over IMO.
  25. epsagent Full Member

Zagorski didn't even pitch last year did he?

Kendrick's girlfriend, the chick from survivor is hot - she'll dump him now, and continue to run her bar downtown - I think its called Gigi's
