he shouldn't have left - should have been drug out by security!

They named Park the #5 starter today.

Also released Jenkins and contacted Sheffield so it looks like he might be that right handed bat off the bench.

Sheffield is going to be a disaster off the bench. He is not going to be happy.
  4. A.Lange=Crazy Full Member

    He wants a ring.

Guess he isnt coming to Philly then:)

Sure as hell won't go the Mets. SI jinx with them picking the Mets to win it all. Shit you said it yourself they are never right.

Sheffield knows he isn't a starter anymore and gives them insurance if Werth is a fluke. $400,000 for a guy that has 499 HR shit take him.

Mets are fucked anyway, at least until I die...

$400,000 aint shit for a cancer once it sinks in that he wont be playing everyday.....Mets should pay his salary. There is a reason the guy has never won shit.
  8. A.Lange=Crazy Full Member

Same deal with Marbury. Get him for nothing and if he sucks or starts shit then cut his ass.

Better than any right handed bat they have now.

I still like Jenkins better than Stairs - but it had to be a $ thing - isn't it always
  10. AssFaceKilla Full Member

I was not a Geoff fan but a bit sad to see him go but he gets his 10 mil so he will be just fine..Park earned the 5th spot..he was great in the spring and Happ will be ready if someone goes down...Sheff wow...would love his right handed power in the bank but I hate to say I agree with KOAW he is a cancer and hope if he does come here he knows his place...but maybe for 400 grand its worth a shot...

61 degrees and sunny for sunday..tailgate is growing by the minute...cant wait....

I think the healthiest pitching staff wins the division.

It has nothing to do with money. They still have to pay Jenkins the money left on his deal. They also have to pay that shit bag Eaton all that money remaining on his contract. Werth took over the RF job so Jenkins was going to be on the bench the whole season and Stairs is the better pinch hitter.

Myers looked solid last night and has been named the starter for opening night. He is followed by Moyer, Blanton, Hamels, and then Myers again as they don't need the #5 spot the first week of the season with a day off in between.

It seems to me the Phillies might have a deal in place with Sheffield as they can't sign till he clears waivers, but they cut Jenkins a couple hours right after Sheffield was cut. I heard him on MLB tonight saying the Phillies had a lot of interest and all NL teams called with maybe the Marlins being another possibility. Cancer or not I think he would be a great addition to the team with no risk at all money wise.

I know for a fact the mets didn't make a call. Omar laughed and walked away when one of the writers mentioned Sheffield.
  15. A.Lange=Crazy Full Member

I'm not saying all the NL teams called him. The guy asked him who had interest and he said the Phillies then everybody else was an NL team so they wanted him to play defense.

You wonder why the Mets haven't won shit with Omar. Mets bench is shit and could use him. Never understood why they didn't go for Manny.

the last thing the mets need is Sheffield. He is a cancer with a me before the team attitude.
  17. A.Lange=Crazy Full Member

All his teammates said they loved him so it just looks like media bullshit to me about being a cancer.

You know he is better than Nick Evans and Tatis was a fluke.

I'll take Evans and tatis happily. They both know their role and have come off the bench before. Two things Sheffield has never done
  19. A.Lange=Crazy Full Member

You would rather have guys that aren't good enough to be starters than a future HOF?
  20. KingOfAllWhites

I would rather have guys who know their role and have had success coming off the bench. Compared to a guy who is always hurt, has never come off the bench and continually goes from team to team even though he is a cheating hof'er.

Guess we can continue this discussion in august and see who is right
  21. dunnie74 Full Member

Im not sold on Werth yet so I like to see them sign Sheffield. Fill a need of a right handed power bat and if it's a bust atleast it's not as costly as the Eaton deal. I figure it would be tough to be a cancer in a room full of guys wearing World Series rings. Shit in a ballpark like Citizen Bank,if he finds his stroke he maybe starting buy June.
  22. KingOfAllWhites

Yankees had way more rings and they kicked his ass to the curb.

I can only pray that he is starting by June. That would mean the phillies are in deep trouble
  23. dunnie74 Full Member

If anything was to happen to Werth they would have a 40 yr old Sheffield and 41 yr old Stairs. Yes i say we be in trouble.

He's just as powerful as Burrell, only faster and with a better average. Werth is gonna do insane with all the extra at-bats.

    fuck sheffield

    Don't forget about Bruntlett.

Imagine gary pitching for the mets, no hitter everytime with his stinky breath..
