5 games out of a WC spot and that's without Utley/Howard for the whole season along with Halladay the last month. Utley will be back next week and Howard is starting a rehab assignment soon. Plenty of baseball left to be played and you should be the last person to count out the Phillies after seeing them comeback on the Mutts all those years.

Halladay was not even great before he got injured. Howard is still not even running yet and Phillies have said Howard will not be 100% probably all season.

Utley has been decling every year anything, now he is coming off a serious injury. No reason to think that trend will not continue. It is not Howard/Utley of 2008

THat was his goal when the season started. The best rotation in baseball always just shoots for the last WC spot. Thats smart managing.

Halladay had an era under 2 in April then he started to wear down due to the injury.

I don't expect to Utley play an AS level, but he is a huge upgrade at what they at 2B. What are you talking about Howard not running yet? He hasn't played any rehab games, but played in exhibition games in the field and should start a rehab assignment next week. Halladay said he felt pain free throwing this week and is on track to return on schedule.

My point is winning the division doesn't guarantee a WS berth as hottest team down the stretch which usually the WC team is. Don't count out the Phillies just yet.
