Due to their offense not Nova as I thought only starters control who wins the game.

Really...where would you get that idea...still Nova pitched 5 2/3 rd gave up 3 runs...bullpen pitched the other 3 1/3 and gave up no runs...so I guess our pitching did pretty well as did the mets..hey by the way how did the phils starters and relievers do today??

Opppps my bad Nova only gave up 2 earned runs..and the Yanks pitching struck out 15 oh and Soriano got his 14th save...which puts him 3 behind papelcrud...and please remember that Soriano didn't start the season as the Yanks closer...oh and by the way at this point the Yanks have the 2nd best bullpen in the AL..so I guess you could say our pitching is doing pretty well..and we have won 11 out of 14..as for the phils if you sweep tomorrow you will only be 2 games under .500

Yankees bullpen won that game last night, they were lights out. That shit they were throwing was absolutely nasty and unhittable.

Yankees are winning though recently because of the long ball. Tough to win in October because of the long ball. Just keep it in mind.

I see Dickey either getting rocked or throwing shutout ball.

So on June 23rd you declared the Phillies should get odds to finish ahead of the Mets? THat could be the funniest thing ever.

Should I pull the posts of what you had to say about the Mets before the season started and threw the first few weeks. This is hysterical!

The New York Mets' new team mascot, "Little Jerry Seinfeld," has found a permanent home.

One day after New York Mets left-hander Tim Byrdak said the chicken would not wind up in a deep fryer, team chef Theresa Corderi tweeted that Little Jerry Seinfeld will head to Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, N.Y., to live out its days.

"Little Jerry going from the fryer to the farm, a reverse trip for most. Thanks to @FarmSanctuary. You guys are awesome," Corderi tweeted.

Byrdak had someone buy the chicken in Chinatown for $8 after Mets closer Frank Francisco created a stir by calling the New York Yankees "chickens."

The bird, which Byrdak named after Kramer's cockfighting chicken on "Seinfeld," ran around the clubhouse during pregame Friday, before Francisco closed out a 6-4 win in the Subway Series opener.

"Frank thought it was funny," Byrdak said. "At first, I told him the Yankees sent it over for him. He had a look of concern on his face. And then he said, 'You bought it.' And I said, 'Yeah, I bought it.' Everyone got a good chuckle out of it. He ran around here for a little bit. And we played the game."

The chicken spent Friday night in a cage at Citi Field. Corderi fed the bird a meal of oatmeal, berries and bread after doing research into the appropriate cuisine on the Internet.

Dickey getting lit up like a Christmas Tree. Good thing I didn't have time to set my fantasy roster today with him on the bench. Think I'm going to trade Dickey while his value is still high.

I was at the game last night, 3rd row in right field, damn good crowd. Lots of energy the entire game, especially when they tied it at 5. 1 HR decided the whole thing, never seen a team live and die by the HR. I would think Phillies fans would know a thing or two about good starters every once in awhile having a shitty start.

1 bad inning and he gets lit up.

Lee has 2 bad innings, and its bad luck

    More stupid ALC logic.

Dickey was in trouble in 2nd and just got lucky he had 8-9 guys to face with the bases loaded.

Either way Lee pitched better than Dickey and CC yet neither of those guys got the loss which is another example why wins and losses are meaningless for a pitcher.

So Dickey got lucky? Honestly, you are a fucking joke.

And yet lee has a higher era then both CC and Dickey...not to mention he is now 0-4....good thing lee is so much better then both of them right alc...oh and by the way..just for the hell of it..lee also has a higher era then Pettitte

Come to think of it....wasn't that the same excuse he made when the Giants beat the pats 3 straight time...the Giants were just lucky

Everytime he is wrong, which as we both know, is quite often...is due to luck. Oh yeah, except when his teams win. No luck involved then

How about these Mets today, getting a nice 17-1 win. 4 HR's, 2 by Murph, Ike hit well, David Wright tore those pitchers a new asshole, where the hell were these Mets the last 2 nights?? They should have swept the lowly and pathetic Cubs instead of only taking 1 out of 3, but still the Mets show their resiliency and bounce back with a vengeance.

refresh my memory....when was he right??
  20. KingOfAllWhites

Didnt he predict that Dickey would not have 3 straight one hitters and that the Heat would win the title.....Bold predictions that he really had to go out on a ledge for.

They seem to bounce back quite often, which you have to credit Collins for. Team plays hard for him and doesnt quit. With a bunch of young kids playing mostly, as a fan, you can not ask for much more.

Just wish that they spread some of those 17 runs out over a few games, im sure we are going to need them, especially heading west. Looks like we get LA at a good time as both Kemp and Ethier are not expected to play. Ill take 500 out west right now in a second.

Exactly, and that's why Terry Collins has been the guy for the job all along. You can see he lights a fire, and they love playing for him. I thought it was great seeing them give Murph the silent treatment after his HR, then burst into a sea of high five's and pats on the back, for a team of young guys like this, it's really encouraging. They won as a team starting with Niese giving a strong outing, he's trying to live up to his contract and so far you can't really ask for much more from him. This isn't the Mets of the last few years where they roll over and die at a certain point in the year, these guys are hungry and fighters, and I love seeing them give it their all for 9 innings (excluding the first 2 against CHC).

As for LA, not having Kemp and Ethier will be huge, but the Mets need to take advantage, Capuano has been pitching great and I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing Kershaw, didn't get a chance to see the probables. Dodgers are in 1st place for a reason so the Mets can't afford to make too many mistakes like they did in Chicago. .500 would be fine with me coming home to get the Phillies and Cubs at home before the break, these next series are crucial.
